Used to love this place, but I can’t support it anymore.
This used to be one of my favorite coffee shops. The drinks are always good, and the baristas are friendly even when the place gets busy. I used to come here all the time to study or grab a coffee before work. The vibe always felt really nice and welcoming.
But lately, I’ve been really disappointed to find that the owners don’t give staff their tips, even though regular customers would assume they do. I saw another review mention this before, and instead of taking responsibility, the owner just denied everything.
The workers also don’t get proper breaks, even on long shifts. They’re expected to be on their feet for hours without resting, which is pretty unfair. I’ve seen on an employee review that employees are made to sign a contract that says they’ll start getting tips after 90 days, but it does not actually happen. Even if withholding tips isn’t illegal in Alberta, putting it in a contract and not following through definitely is.
It’s sad, because the staff are amazing and they’re part of the reason people love this place. But it’s hard to keep supporting a business that doesn’t treat their workers right. I really hope the owners change how they run things, because this shop could honestly be great again if they did.

They have plenty of bakeries and desserts. Especially I was surprised how much of everything they have by 6pm, because it’s almost only one cafe working till 9pm. Very friendly staff! Feels like they all knew there still, but they’re doing great!
They’re specialize on coffee, but I wanted to get a tea because it was quite late. So I wouldn’t recommend to get a tea, they have basic grocery store tea, when I expected to have something more organic and different looking at the level of the cafe.. Maybe you guys should consider to bring different kind of tea, the cheapest one from the grocery store makes you look cheap now… and impression was down after that. Anyways We enjoyed it, and next time I’ll try their coffee, but I hope they will consider my concern. Thank you!

I came to your store and the staff didn’t know whether the cake contained gelatin or alcohol. It would be very helpful if you could clearly mention if your products are Halal or not

Omg the strawberry cream danish was the best I’ve ever had (I ate half of it before I took the pic). I’m not a big coffee person but I thought the latte was really good too. Love this place!

Even though I didn't have coffee (which is what they specialize in) I did still enjoy my matcha latte! I wish they had more milk alternatives besides lactose free and oat but at least lactose free didn't cost extra (whereas switching to oat is an extra $1). The matcha latte wasn't sweetened either so if you like them sweeter, make sure to mention it! I love the cafe set up and the fact that they have a cute little loft! I just love the layout of a loft, something about sitting there makes you want to crack open a book or study

The lone barista that was working at the counter was super friendly, she was amazing at juggling the multiple orders and delivering the orders at the same time. Ordered the hot chocolate, and London fog. The hot chocolate was great, we asked her prior not to make it too sweet, and she came thru. The London fog was 5/10 I would've preferred a stronger earl gray flavor, maybe consider leaving the tea bag in the cup. They do have an upstairs sitting area, however it seemed a bit empty with little ambiance, the ground floor next to the window was a much better vibe.
