Bowness Pub is my local pub. Went in last night and they had a special of steak. Get a second one for $5. The steak was the worst steak of my life…like both of them. They were cooked properly. It was the cut of meat. So we didn’t eat them. We did eat the sides. Waitress just laughed and said yeah. That’s it. Food quality has gone down hill. Beers there sure just remember to eat first!

Genuinely the best wings in the city! I don’t know what they do differently, but I’ve tried many different spots in Calgary and nothing has topped Bowness Pub so far.
Other food options are also great, haven’t tried a dish I didn’t like. Staff are friendly, welcoming, and remember your name and typical orders if you are a regular.
Seriously good prices on food and drinks, again better than almost any other equivalent spot in the city.
Overall, great neighborhood pub and usually not too crowded. Gets busy during certain events like karaoke, but those are always a good time.

Honestly I visited this pub quite frequently, the wings were great but I’ve had one too many bad experiences with ownership to make me want to go back. Her staff are quite lovely and the wings were worth going for but after two or three bad and awkward experiences I’ve had with the owner, has put a bad taste in my mouth.
1. We tended to walk to bowness pub, it’s about a 26 minute walk from where I live and would stop in on our route for a gin Caesar and Wings, water is a staple on our walks but don’t even think about bringing in a water bottle, she will make you put it away or throw it out.
2. One time we were there, the lady at the table next to us had ordered a glass of red wine. She took a sip and decided she did not like it so she sent it back. (Kind of her mistake for ordering wine at a place like this but I digress). My boyfriend got up to go to the washroom shortly after and saw this owner siphoning the glass of wine back into the bottle behind the bar. Gross.
3. We stopped in after walking to the farmers market, we had small backpacks full of produce and other items we had purchased. There was absolutely no one in the bar except for us and the owner insisted we put our bags behind the bar. It was embarrassing. Not only had I been in there many times, she didn’t trust me enough to keep my backpack with me?!
4. I was also shorted by her on a vlt payout.
For a bar owner I would expect better customer service and a little bit of professionalism especially to a loyal customer. Despite the delicious wings, I haven’t been back and I won’t be.
Try the many other establishments in Bowness. Brewsmith is fantastic, I would go there instead!

Terrible service!
Order deep fried pickles to only find they were sprinkled with a white powder that seemed to create extreme saltiness l, told the water she said she will do something and tell the cook.
She brings back said pickles, went to try them to find they literally refried the exact same pickles/ even the half eaten ones ...
WOW-never have ever seen in any restaurant.
**asked her to take them off the bill as now they are even worse for her to to feed me a sour attitude**

Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs easy to get in ,no automatic door though so u may need someone to help
Food came quickly and tasted great! However the portion sizes are small for the price. At least give a larger amount of sides if your going to have your main on the smaller side. Basic greens and potatoes are cheap. Don't cheap out in them.

Went here for the Halloween party. Loved the place and the overall theme for the night. Food was also great.
Not to mention the band performance from "Table for 1" was awesome!

Definitely one and done. First time here and very unwelcoming. A buddy and I stopped in for a few drinks and pool. We ordered a couple of beer and you couldn't move our server's head with a bulldozer to see how we were doing. My buddy ordered a Steak Sandwich which he said was quite good but even his empty glass when she dropped off his food wasn't clue enough for her to ask if he wanted another. He ended up going to the bar to ask her for a glass of wine and another beer for me. But that was it. Most of the time here back was to the bar while she texted and mucked on her phone. We both refused to go ask her for anything. As a server I expect her to serve me. I'm not gonna bother trying to get her attention. I'm very patient when a place is busy and the servers are run off their feet but there were 3 people on the vlt's not drinking and 4 other people just having a drink. Pathetic! Sad because they're close and have a pool table.
