Very good food, server was nice. they are renovating soon and fail to mention it anywhere on the website so it was a very limited menu in comparison to what they show online. Hope I can visit when the Renovations are done.

Server had a great balance of being timely and also giving us the perfect space for a business lunch. I had the new short rib arancini which was delicious and same with my ceasar salad. Fresh, and good portions. My lunch partner had the burger which I could have stolen from him it looked amazing as well as a super fresh looking cobb salad. Haven't been to Briggs in awhile, but will be sure to be back sooner next time! We have always had good service here, and looks like they've remained constant with that.

Honestly the food was pretty good, the steak was by far the best I asked the sever for a surprise and told her, no seafood, mushroom or gravy.... She's ended up serving me salmon.... When I got home, I looked at the bill and it had calamari on it which I never received. Very disappointing

Briggs Kitchen + Bar is a little gem in the Beltline. It is a neat space with central bar dividing bar and dining seating, with an open kitchen. Very comfortable. I office close by, and have social and business meals and meet-ups there. Staff are always exceptionally pleasant (we have a lot of great service staff in Calgary and I do not use "exceptional" lightly). Food is reliably very good. The menu is not huge but very well balanced. House beer on tap (good lager) and a good range of beverages available. Worth your time and money to stop in for lunch, drinks or dinner.

The 'shareable' plates are not really shareable as we know. They were a complete dinner of protein, starch and vegetable. We did divide amongst the 3 of us but not as easy as most. The shareable appetizer -beets, should have had a serving utensil. We made a reservation and it was early, 5:30, the restaurant was quiet but we were seated at the front door, next to the cashier and a major path for servers. Food was good but not great on the atmosphere.

Without any indication on their website or OpenTable, Briggs opted for a limited, set menu the night of our visit. Options provided were expensive and portion sizes were laughably small. I'd been to the restaurant previously and was embarrassed having recommended it based on this visit.

The atmosphere at this amazing restaurant is very down to earth and humble. Which is crazy, considering how incredible the food is. The portions are excellent, the meat is cooked perfectly, and the prices are perfect. If you're looking for a somewhat casual evening out with your significant other I would highly recommend this spot. In addition, they also have parking beside the building. Downtown, can be hard to find great spots like this, but Briggs delivers!

We ordered a bottle of wine to share, the server left in on the table unopened for us to open and pour our first glass on our own. The food was just okay. Nothing spectacular. Hardly any lobster in the lobster pasta and the beef dip was cool and soggy At 9:30pm on a Wednesday the restaurant was empty, we hadn't finished our drinks and had paid the bill minutes before the staff began putting up chairs on tables and said to us that when the restaurant is empty they close early to save on wages. We were there for 2 hours.

Menu was a touch confusing. Having appies and shareable options separated by the mains made ordering a little confusing. Food was good, drink options were fun! Had mocktail options (not on the menu) Staff was very attentive and kind. Food was good, the appetizers and shareables were better then the mains. Really enjoyed the ambience of the restaurant.

Their tomahawk is exquisite with other side dishes and it was the reason for revisiting. But two unpleasant thing have happened. First, our server didn't ask me which amount of wine I ordered when I just named off the wine without the oz. Also we were told if we need a box to go for the leftovers instead if we are still enjoying or finished. We felt bit rushed from the beginning ordering. That was uncomfortable. 2ndly, the chef was mad when a server let him know what guest complained. It wasn't that good to watch and know the scenes while enjoying the table, tho. Otherwise, foods and the air of the restaurant was good.
I'm not someone who usually writes reviews online so you know it has to be good when I do. The other night I had one of my best dine in experiences in Calgary. I order the half chicken which was mouth-watering good. However that was not the highlight of the night. I could tell my server was new but another server named Jackie came and helped so it seemed like great teamwork to give me amazing service. I've never seen a restaurant that puts this much care into its hospitality. This will definitely be my go to restaurant from now on and will highly recommend to my friends and family. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!!!

I assume the server was new and his part wasn't even the main problem. The food took 45 minutes, was Luke warm, fries uncooked and overall just a bad experience. Pic of what they served as French onion soup. Isn't French onion soup, and was barely warm. We did send back and asked it to be removed from our bill as that was not offered.

Had a wonderful experience, my friend and I got a new server, Jenn, who was very knowledgeable and extremely friendly. We felt so comfortable and taken care of, she ensured that my allergy issue would not have any cross contamination. The food was great and priced reasonably for portion sizes. Location and parking was easy, will definitely recommend this place to friends, and will be coming back! Thank you Briggs!Parking: Parkade across the street and paid parking lots right beside.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free items available

Typically a great place to go however last night the worst service and attention to detail I could ever imagine. Extreme lack of customer service and attentiveness from our server, and inexperience in making the simplest of cocktails/martinis. I definitely will think twice about coming here again.

Don't eat here! It's really bad food & service. Management has changed, and NOBODY at this restaurant knows what they're doing. I don't know how this place is allowed to be open with such horrific food and service.
