Truly one of the most welcoming bars I've been to in calgary. Not only is the demographic older and less problematic its so refreshing to be greeted by Aldin and his staff they make you feel seen! 10/10 recommend for nights out! Girls trust me this is the spot!!!!!!!!!

Great space that has been mishandled. Subpar entertainment and theme nights. Cheap food nights are met with a purposefully limited and expensive drink menu. Staff is decent but usually over worked in the evening, and decor/aesthetic of space is okay. Your DJs aren't worth a cover charge and no one is emo anymore! No sense of community since rockin for dollars left. I have a hard time finding an excuse to return.

Nicely renovated and feels more spacious than before. Good sound for shows. Haven't tried the food myself.
It did seem like poor planning that they had 3 people working the door and only 1 bartender. Poor girl looked like she was in the weeds pretty good, a food expo had to come bartend.
Edit: I've tried the food now, it's not great. They also didn't have any beer on tap and instead of stocking some cans of one of the many great local breweries, they had Coors and Heineken...

love this place, staff are great especially Charles aka chunky cheeks chuck - great bartender, sometimes a good laugh (to laugh with or at). Vibes are good.

Went to Modern Love last night to see an acoustic rock concert. The bass from the EDM playing on their patio upstairs was very distracting and annoying considering it took away from the experience we paid for. The artists mentioned speaking to the management, but nothing was done. Shame. No food was served and the bar had very limited drink options, with more than half the canned beverage options being sold out halfway through the night. Also, the smoke detector was covered with a Ziploc and duct tape. Not sure that passes code for a busy establishment with a couple hundred patrons. This place doesn't hold a candle to the old Broken City.
It would be amazing if there was a place where we could see the full schedule for the week. I already tried all the channels, even calling and sending messages, but it’s just impossible. They post some events, but not for every day of the week.
