I had always heard Buchanan's burgers were delicious, and they did not disappoint. Perfectly cooked and well seasoned, accompanied by a generous serving of fries. My new favourite burger in Calgary.

One of the most detailed and well thought out back bars in the city. Great place to grab a drink after work casually or book a meal for a proper meeting. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable about offerings. Food is always superb.

A really nice meal, very accommodating with our tardiness to the originally booked reso ( roadways were down to single lane, unanticipated extra drive time on our side should have been accounted for) ordered the special, and while the first steak came out underwhelming, the staff and chef were VERY quick to correct this and the second go was absolutely perfect, the sides were great and they were very attentive. As always a wonderful meal and experience.

The starters were amazing, the steaks were cooked perfectly and delicious. Whisky selection was over the, my scotch selection was wonderful. Highly recommend and we'll be back when we come this way again.

The server was wonderful, the service was great and they were able to get us served in a reasonable amount of time for the lunch hour. It was busy but not too loud. We had the Fish and Chips special which was fine, the fish seemed a little dry, the fries were great, I've had it before and really enjoyed it! l love Buchanan's it's one of our favourite restaurants in the city.

I am a regular at Buchanan's, and I consistently recommend it to people because I think they have the best burger in the city. Unfortunately, we had a young waitress who was absolutely terrible and she all but ruined our expereince. I had taken an elderly couple. The woman requested an alcohol free beer. The waitress said with 100% certainty that there was none. Of course there was, but it took 3 tries to get it. Then the senior gentlemen requested a drink. We had to ask for it multiple times. Our salad appetizers came after our main courses. I felt like our guests were not treated with any respect. They were all but ignored. We had an early reservation and there were only a couple other tables in the entire restuarant, so its not like the server was busy. I will go back as I still love the burger, but I know my guests will not!

Alex was amazing! He has an extensive knowledge of the drinks he poured us, mainly Scotch and some wines. He even shared a recipe for an Old Fashioned using maple syrup. He was very attentive and personable!
The atmosphere was perfect for chatting and catching up with old friends which is what we did. We shared a few appies that were excellent. Loved the bruschetta!

My friend had the halibut which was great, however the seafood pasta I ordered was not good. The one bit of lobster was so incredibly over-cooked it was like cutting into rubber and the rest of the seafood (mussels, scallops, shrimp) weren't far behind it. The past was overcooked as well and the noodles disintegrated when my fork touched them making it a challenging meal to eat. Server was really nice but the meal left a lot to be desired.
