Someone told me the kadhai is really nice here but the service is bad because of the servers. I came to the restaurant today and they staff did not even acknowledge my presence. To the owner, if you want this place to be successful change the servers/staff as soon as possible. The food alone won’t help you to be successful you need good staff as well. Will never come back to this place unless the staff gets changes

10/10 recommended!! We came from Toronto and were staying in Calgary for a few days. Came across this restaurant because it was closest to our hotel. And I must say the taste, service and quality of food was amazing. Freshly prepared, authentic Pakistani taste and extremely budget friendly (especially when you compare with Toronto prices)

Today was the third time we came here to have a dinner and it was again the third time that the restaurant was closed due to a private event. If they could mention this on the website for the patrons to know before we make the trek, it would save everyone the bother. We have eaten several time at their Ontario Pickering location and wanted to try it in Calgary but at the moment we are 0 out of 3. To say I am disappointed would be a severe understatement.

They shouldn’t be taking reservation specially when they are running events. Bad food, bad service and bad ambience.

Disappointed This Time 😞 Butt Karhai in Calgary has always been our go-to stop whenever we’re heading to Banff or coming back — it used to be kind of a tradition. But honestly, after today’s experience, I don’t think we’ll be coming back.
Ordered 2 biryanis and it was just… bad. The rice was hard, barely any meat, and it clearly looked (and tasted) like it was a couple days old. No flavor, no freshness, just a big letdown.
I’m not trying to throw shade — we’ve had good experiences here in the past — but this time was so off-putting that it’s hard to ignore. Just being honest. Hope they improve, but I won’t be returning.

Their goat karahi is really delicious. Rest of the stuff is good too. Nice Pakistani Cuisine.
This place is a total disaster. When you get in there you think you are crashing someone’s wedding or a birthday party. You wait for someone at the reception to come and greet you. Our server was awesome. She deserves a raise. Poor thing been doing three people’s job. Running b/w the kitchen, lobby and the front counter plus cleaning and setting up the tables. Food was really bad. Week old rice with some chicken on the top. The full recipe of a food poisoning. Nihari was from other planet. ( so bad and inedible.). Kababs platter was microwaved too. The only fresh food were naans. They added ten% of a total before taxes already. Plus a tip of 10% which we did for our lovely server. Hope she gets it. Please don’t start a food business if you can’t follow the food safety etc. change your restaurant’s name, you guys are misleading people by using the name of a famous Pakistani restaurant chain.
