Hamburgers were good, chicken fajita was overdone and chicken was dry. Coffee was lukewarm. Very loud and hard to visit. Staff were excellent.

Cactus is a staple in the Calgary food industry, the service you get is pretty standard across the board. We did notice the food does have a bit of a heavy salt undertone, it could possibly come down to dishes and personal preference but we did have two people we were with mention something similar. The service was a high point however it’s always a on point but this specific location is a bit cramped and loud I find. Could be due to the size of the location parking is a similar problem. Overall it’s not bad and not great just overage at best

Terrible experience with take out. My client stayed more than 1 hour today waiting for a simple hamburger that was not ready for anything. I waited 45 minutes and nothing for the order to be ready. I don't recommend accepting orders from this place
I still love this place but the Ribeye steak i ordered is very chewy and cooked rush, not happy about it.

I visited Cactus Club Macleod on February 6th and had an amazing experience with our server Alysha. She was super nice and the service was quick. Food was good too.
Vegetarian options: I had the vegetarian fajitas and they were so good! They were off the menu for a while and brought back only to the Macleod location!

Never made it past the surly hostess.
I arrived with a friend on a Thursday just before 6pm. We did not have a reservation so I was relieved the small parking lot was quite empty. Upon entering my friend arrived at the same time and we greeted eachother and chatted for a minute off to the side. When I looked up at the hostess she giving me such an awful glare, it seemed she was beyond annoyed we didn't go to her immediately to check in. I cannot understand another reason she was staring me down.
She said it would be an hour and half for a table. I pointed out to her there were empty tables all over the restaurant, (looked to be more empty tables than guests!) it clearly wasn't a busy night here. This just annoyed her even more. She said she has a big table coming in at 6:30... she said we could sit at the bar top, again open tables in the bar area and I asked if we could sit at a high top over there to which she rudely repeated bar top only.
I'm not sure if we caught this employee on a bad day but she was clearly annoyed with us upon entering.
We ended up leaving, in the car I checked cactus club website for a reservation and could have made one for us for 6:30pm, 30 min after we arrived. (The exact time she had a big party coming and was unable to offer us a table) Hmmm.. disappointed, but ended up at The Keg with their always amazing service and food. Should have just gone there in the first place.

Decided for something simple, and got the chicken tenders. No seasoning whatsoever. Worst I've had. Even the dip wasn't enough to cover up that bland, nasty taste. Service was good.

Great food and service. The only downfall is it is so loud inside the restaurant, the acoustics are terrible. So bad it's hard to have a conversation with people at the same table.

I was extremely impressed with our waitress' care about my mom's gluten allergy. She even adjusted some items that weren't listed as GF to be so. The hostess had "no clue" about the gluten free options or the what was on the menu at all, but our waitress was so amazing. We will be back knowing I can eat here safely and be listened too.
Food and drinks are always excellent, atmosphere is busy and they have a good buzz of activity while still able to hold a conversation at your table. Service at the downtown location is usually slow but the food is generally out fast once your are about to get sb order in. Good go-to spot to catch up with colleagues.
Parking: Have to park at the Core shopping centre, free for an hour I think…best to walk if you work downtown.
Kid-friendliness: It’s Cactus Club, you could bring kids but it’s not a child’s venue. Save this for work or date night.

I really like Cactus Club (other locations), but this one really disappointed me. I showed up with a reservation and was told to wait because the party had not quite finished. I waited patiently for 25 minutes while other tables without reservations were seated. I was then told to go to the bar because it was just me. I needed some space to do some work on my laptop which is why I requested a table. I had intended on getting a bottle of wine and a meal. So not a cheap table for them. Very poor customer service on both the host and the manager working this evening. Would not suggest this location if you’re dining for one. They’re very judgmental and have poor business etiquette. I went over to the Keg next door and was served like an actual human being.
