The Winter Club is an amazing facility! As I was working out the other day I thought, what is the value to your wellbeing and that of your family? I am grateful for the opportunities for well-being the club has provided our family and I think this opportunity is priceless. From the hours and hours the kids spend at the rink doing their "toe drag-release" and "Michigans", to the time spent with friends and family at the multitude of awesome venues, to the copious sports opportunities...... all these provide huge physical & mental wellbeing. The staff is incredible and always smiling or willing to help; from the front line staff at the restaurants to the professionals at the physio department, you always feel well taken care of. Ultimately, the opportunity to see friends, neighbours, members of your community, all creates an uplifting sense of mental well being and opportunities to network. The club has become a major pillar to my family's health and has given the kids really great opportunities to learn, be active, create community, and get an escape from their phones! I love the incredible gym and fitness areas myself. Friends of ours from the Glencoe are jealous how lucky we are to get the ice time for hockey we do In my opinion, I think the club offers incredible value that as a family you come to understand and appreciate as you use and grow into the club. We find we can't really live without it now, and spend a big part of our lives here. We hope to create more friends and connection in the months and years ahead. I just played tennis in a mens league for the first time the other day. Our family has been members for a couple years, and I just wanted to say that the club is simply incredible and I wanted to convey gratitude to the privilege of being able to use this club first and the amazing wellbeing it fosters secondly. If you have an opportunity to become a member at the WinterClub, just do it. It's good for you and the entire family, and that is ......priceless.

The Winterclub use to be good, but I can no longer recommend this to potential members. 1) This is no longer an exclusive club, there are many members it is difficult to find parking spots on weekends and evenings. In addition on weekends the club is packed you can't even get a table at lunch. That is is you're lucky enough to get into a class, as 3x a year you frantically try to register your kids to classes that fill up in seconds. This was before they just approved 300 more families last month, so will be getting much busier. If you are a senior and coming during the weekday mornings this club is nice, but if you are a family with kids and want to use this club during the weeknights or weekends this club is no better than your local rec center, save yourself the money, I wish I did. Or try Glencoe, which still seems exclusive. 2) if you want to join this club because you want your kids to be competent at sports, this is NOT the club for you. They hire high school/university kids to teach your kids classes, but they charge a premium for kids registration. They will have instructors with fancy resume, but often the teaching is left to high school kids. If you want medicore exposure of sports for your kids akin to pseudo-babysitting then this club is fine for you. Otherwise I would try Glencoe or just register your kids at local sports facilities who actually specialize in the sport you want your kids to join. Families have tried to raise these concern to James, the manager, but he has not taken any action or provided feedback.

I just had a conversation with the front desk about this business. She mentioned members only and as soon as she stated it is 25,000$ buy in and 2000$+ yearly fee, I was going to mention I did not expect this to be a such a high buy in fee. I mean at the end of the day this is not a golf course.Well she actually completely cut me off by saying good bye as soon as "I said well I did not". I get that members only clubs have a certain price but the front desk lady who represents the business should not be behaving in such an ill mannered way.Whoever the manager is for this business should really re-train their front desk lady as she seems to show little patience and lack of professional communication skills.

I have a great, wonderful, good benefits kitchen job in downtown when Miguel(dismissed) called me up to join the CWC and offered me the same rates and benefits that I'm currently getting after 3 months of service and I was convinced and start my job on April 2022. At first, I noticed that some of my colleagues were not happy that I was there. You can feel the rejection, but I ignore it. After 3 months,Miguel was gone without any words. Until Clint (F&B director)announced that Miguel was no longer connected to Calgary Winter Club. I was worried because that's the time I should get what he had promised. I spoke to Clint regarding Miguel sweet words and told me that they only gave raised 50cents per year. I spoke to the newly appointed executive chef Paolo ( Miguel deserves it as he was 15 years working at CWC). He told me that he would not consider whatever transaction I had with Miguel, I assumed politics will start building up.Even it's not a good feeling on my part I decided to stay considering that Club is just 5 minutes drive from my house. Paolo is now looking for someone to replace Miguel's position and he appointed Rodel (long time best friend of Paolo) as OIC in Cafe and later on promoted as sous chef and my nightmare at Cafe started. This guy (Rodel) is not happy during my first day at Cafe. This guy started to give me more stress as he made me feel that he didn't need me at Cafe, but I tried to be nice and give him respect as he's my superior. After a year of service with Cafe, I approached Rodel about yearly raised (Clint info) and I was told that he don't care and point me to Paolo instead and said, that I need to complete 3 months full time hours. I approached Clint, and I was told that he's only paying manager salary (far from previous statements). I spoke to HR (Chantelle) about my queries at work, experiences, and the management and colleagues' treatment towards me. After she heard all my concerns, she even said that there's discrimination going on and told me that she's called Paolo and Clint attention. Instead, they planned a demolition job for me. ( THEY DOESN'T WANT MIGUEL'S HIRE EXISTS) All my legal requests, like 2 weeks vacation, which I think I'm eligible for, were refused and used it as my violation. I spoke to Paolo, that I completed 7 full time hours paystub (more than 3 months)and considered my benefits and raise, and he informed me to meet him at HR office with Chantelle. Once there, Chantelle handed over to me a termination letter. I was terminated without cause. Since I expected their plan, I applied and worked with other company a week before their decisions. I'm not sharing this to get sentiment or pitted on me but to call the attention of higher authority regarding the action of the management employees towards me such as unfair labor practices, unfair management treatment, illegal dismissal, and discrimination that I experienced. I came out to open to show that this is not a fabricated story. I named name as it was true. I still recommend this company, a good place to work but with your own discretion.

I am writing anonymously for my concerns with the Calgary Winter Club Cafe. Working at the Club Cafe has been one of the most irritating experience I’ve ever been through in my whole working life, which is why I am very happy that I have resigned from my employment there. Most of the members at the club are Wonderful, so they have never been the issue. But what makes the work place unbearable is the management run by Maribel. The treatment to the staff is unfair and disrespectful. Often times rarely giving out consistent scheduling, scheduling us without 24 hours notice or consent, making last minute changes sometimes not informing us about the changes. Not to mention that she has also broken labour laws in the workplace. Another person worth mentioning is the supervisor at the cafe. By far the most unprofessional mannered employee of the cafe. Many instances she will disappear unannounced for hours at a time, sometimes when help is needed. The lack of duty and involvement with the staff upfront is unfit to be called supervisor. Overall, along with me, almost all of the other employees have felt lack of respect, manners, and appreciation coming from both. Unless changes are made and they step up their act. I would definitely not recommend the Winter Club in terms of working at the cafe. I hope for the betterment of anybody that is currently working there

Very nice private club with all kids of facilities and nice restaurants and Bar

It is a private (member only) club but you can book a tour and then be a member if you like it. It has a pool, skating rink, curling rink, badminton court, fitness centre, squash and tennis. Basically, you can stay here all day and yes you can leave your kids at the daycare. There are kids programs too that you can checkout on their website.

Beautiful facility for families. Absolutely loved the family change rooms. It was so easy showering and getting dressed in the spacious shower room with my 17 month old. They provide towels and all the products you’d need for washing up.

Calgary Winter Club is hosting the Canadian National Badminton Championship. Very impressed by all the work being done and great fun watching the players.
