The food at Carino was absolutely delicious. It was the service that really stood out. Extremely friendly wait staff. Very enjoyable meal however it was a bit loud.

Tucked into the heart of Calgary, Carino delivers a bold fusion of Japanese and Italian flavors and nails it! I started with Chicken and Veg Momo and Scallops for my main, both were standouts: fresh and flavorful. The place was bustling with energy, which added to the atmosphere, though it did get a bit loud at times. Still, the vibrant crowd only reinforced Carino's popularity - clearly a local favorite for a reason. If you're in Calgary and looking for something unique with top-tier execution, Carino is a must-visit.

This was our second time and once again did not disappoint. We absolutely love the overall experience at Carino. Service is top notch j and the food is incredible.

Both the service and the food are amazing! The Duck! is especially good, the momos and the tonkatsu curry are also excellent. The dessert Sakura parfait gives a memorable delicious end to the whole dining experience. The only small complaint are that the tables are small and seatings are tight.

Went there on a Friday 50 minutes before closing, was told the kitchen is closed.

Also, it used to be a great place and cozy vibes. Not any more.

The Duck Duck!! would be my death row meal. 10/10.
Our server Josh elevated our experience.

The concept of Japanese Italian fusion intrigued me as I’m a huge lover of both kinds of food so I was so happy to see this place pop up.

We ordered:
- chicken 8/10 and veggie momos 10/10
- wagyu beef bucatini 10/10
- donkatsu curry carbonara 8/10
- sakura parfait 10/10
- iced hojicha tea 10/10

Everything was really good and flavourful. Our faves were the bucatini, the veggie momos, the sakura parfait, and the iced hojicha tea. We thought the katsu curry carbonara was great but would’ve loved the meat to be a bit more tender. Regardless, the experience was awesome!

I would 100% come back to try their other dishes.

I love this place. Cant wait to try everything on the menu! Every visit is always consistent and always a full house so remember to make reservations.
Had the mussels, risotto and the pesto gnocchi.
The risotto was definitely the star of the night, and the broth from the mussels was to die for.

My friend and I came for dinner. The staff were very nice and able to accommodate us by seating us at the bar. From the moment we walked in, the service was fantastic. Everyone working was friendly and helpful. For our mains, we had the ramen and gyoza lasagna, which was absolutely delicious! I definitely need to go back so I can try more dishes. I highly recommend coming here!

I was skeptical about this kind of fusion at first but wow. What an incredible meal. There were 5 of us and we ordered the muscles, fried chicken, sushi tacos, and the bruschetta salad to start. All unique with different flavours. I would drink a litre of broth from the muscles if given the chance. - very very good. As for dinner we ordered a few of the gyoza lasagna and a waygu tagliatelle, I had the Tonkatsu carbonara special which was my favourite. 10/10 flavour. The fusion between the two cuisines was very well balanced and complimented each other quite well. Dessert we tried the cheesecake, the desert tasted and the crème brûlée. All were fantastic and worth trying ( the sesame tiramisu in the tasting dessert was my favourite)
The service was great and the atmosphere was lively and fun.
Lots on the menu still to try. Will return!
Thanks!

Some of the best food I've had in Canada. Amazing staff and a great atmosphere

Initially looking at the menu it seemed like the confusion type of fusion. After trying it out, the balance is sharper than a 400 fold katana. The components of each dish are clear and show both styles well. The service is as inviting as any Italian bistro, and paired with a space that feels like the two cultures were meant to be together.

Try the momos they are fantastic but also a special so get them while you can.
