Carino "Japanese Italian Kitchen"

We had a wonderful lunch here. The staff were friendly and the perfect amount of attentive. The food was amazing. Like all places on this stretch of road the parking is what it is. We had no trouble finding a spot, but don't expect some huge parking lot directly beside the location. I highly recommend this restaurant. I gave it five stars because there was no option greater then this.

So I brought myself to Carino.
It's a charming as hell little venue, with thanks to the skillful crew there, they make the intimate space work well.

I didn't catch his name but there is an on-site tea sommelier. He recommended a buckwheat tea from Hokkaido to pair with my meal. I thought the tea wasn't my cup on first taste, but man it really did pair beautifully with the food! I was super impressed!

The Japanese typically do Italian wonderfully, so I'm grateful that there was no exception here.
The Momo's (a Nepali dumpling) with Pomodoro sauce are legend!
They are so good--soft and hugely delicious!
The Tonkatsu Carbonara, which my neighbors also both ordered was equally delicious!
Very happy, and for reasons of my own doing, very full!

Nish was Great in her knowledge of the food and her service. Josh is passionate and knowledgeable about the tea. The food was amazing, from Appetizers to dessert.

Had a lovely valentines meal here last night after wanting to try the place for a long time.

Very nice atmosphere and vibe inside, service was incredibly good and prompt, plates taken within 30 seconds of finishing the items and replaced immediately, the bartender on staff made us some cocktails on the fly that were incredible!

Both of our the appetizer, main dishes and dessert were all incredible. Had the mozzarella app, wagyu buchatini and the katsu curry dish they were all 10/10 and the cheesecake for dessert disappeared in short order.

Only gripe was a small one in that they didnt have bar hooks on the underside to hang our coats and purse so had to kind of just keep them in front of us but everything else about the experience was perfect.

Would recommend to anyone that loves great food! Bravo will be back!

We love this place. My wife and I go every few months and the food is amazing. Josh who is a tea sommelier is fantastic and always has a good story to tell. The staff all together make sure all tables are cared for and they run like a well oiled machine. You MUST try the duck nan-ban with udon. I crave the flavours. The wagyu bucatini and the pan seared scallops on risotto are our other favourites!

Awesome food. Top quality, quite small and busy, so it’s loud and hard to get reservations for larger groups but the food will exceed your expectations!

What a unique restaurant. It is a true fusion of japanese and italian cuisine. We had the “Momos” which was the appetiser of the day.They were unexpectedly spicy but still quite good. Our favourite dish was the seafood pasta. They put caviar in it for a fun twist which was super interesting. The cocktails were decent but nothing special taste-wise. The service was great as well.

What an amazing little restaurant, from the excellent food to the outstanding service. Will definitely be coming back!

Carino is such a great experience, the servers are so welcoming and knowledgeable about each plate. Every plate we ordered was just so delicious and full of so much flavour. I highly recommend it especially for date night. Make sure to make a reservation as it fills up quickly. You won't be disappointed!

We really enjoyed the Sushi Tacos 7 ways and the Pan Seared Scallops dish. Will be back to try other menu items in the future.

Food was absolutely amazing. Just the prawns in the gnocchi my husband and I got still had the tail on which was not ideal, but regardless the flavour was amazing. Will be back!
