I ordered a cheesecake for pickup and was quite excited to try it! Unfortunately the cheesecake was wrapped in a plastic bag inside the box and that plastic bag was so cheap and chemical smelling it seeped into the cake making it inedible. No one wants to eat a cake that tastes and smells like cheap plastic. I hope this isn't the case with all the cakes from here but what I got was a waste of $20.

Ordered 3 mini original tarts for our family, the tarts were oozy, warm and delicious. Will definitely hit them up again when we are in the area. Service was friendly and prompt and tarts were well packaged.

We had heard about this place & really wanted to give it a try. There was no lines we walked right up, ordered a Japanese cheesecake, pay the $20 and we were on our way. We got home and was surprised at what exactly was sold to us. Far from a cheesecake, more closely resembling a sponge cake where the cook forgot to add oil or water. It crumbled as we sliced it. One of us being Japanese, the other having lived in Japan for 12 years made us felt qualified to know what a Japanese style cheesecake was. And this wasn't it. The best way to describe it, was an angel food cake that had been sitting out for two days, then someone tried to reconstitute it by microwaving it with a glass of water.

Think "dried twinkie."

See the photo so you have an idea of what Japanese cheesecake *isn't*. For $20, we expected something far better than this.

Was about to buy a few cakes from here until I saw an employee vaping right behind the cakes. Unless I was interested in having fruity flavoured cake, would not buy from this location….

I recently visited Castella Cheesecake at Chinook Centre and was thoroughly impressed. The moment I walked in, the delightful aroma of freshly baked cheesecakes filled the air. I decided to try their signature Castella cheesecake, and it did not disappoint. The texture was perfectly fluffy, and it had just the right amount of sweetness.

In addition to their cheesecake, I sampled a few other baked goods, all of which were equally delicious. The quality and freshness of their products are truly outstanding. The service was also top-notch; the staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome. They took the time to explain the different offerings and even gave us a few samples to try.

Overall, my experience at Castella Cheesecake was fantastic. The combination of delicious baked goods and excellent customer service makes this place a must-visit. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a sweet treat at Chinook Centre

The Basque cheesecake tastes good. It is wrapped up in plastic inside the box - which will create moisture on the cake, especially if you do not eat it right away - not idealHowever the cake is 5"(which is what it is described as) at MOST. To say it serves 3-4 actual human people is not really accurate. 3-4 people could get a taste but not a true dessert experience. Website photos don't seem to accurately depict true size.Packaged nicely but to me it's quite expensive for the size you get.Good taste but likely will not purchase again

Bought the basque cheesecake today. The box was kinda wet and when we opened it the cake was damp and had a lot of moisture on it. It tasted it and looked like it was soaked in water.

On the expensive side, not as good as Pablo Cheess tarts, and benches (no tables) nearby to sit and enjoy. Very friendly service.

I wasn’t a big fan of cheesecakes growing up but this one really got me hooked on their creamy cheesecake. So delicious and I will definitely buy again whenever I get to visit Calgary.

Cheese tarts are really good! The quality is substantially better than another certain popular chain that opened up recently. The price point is higher but you can tell the difference in quality. It’s definitely a splurge and great as a gift for someone who loves cheesecake type desserts.
