I had the Baron Prime Rib, and it was excellent. I had a baked potato and veggies with it, and they were also great. The service was also excellent. I can't say anything bad about this place! With tip, a little over 80 Canadian is not bad in my book. Also had the Garden salad ? for starter, and it too was excellent!

Every time I visit Calgary, I have to have a dinner at Cattle Baron! This time the food was great as usual. The service was good but looked like they were short servers and it took my server a long time to bring me the Intrac machine to pay my bill!

I was looking forward to my dinner here but was very disappointed with the quality of food that was served. I feel that I didn’t get the value expected for a steakhouse. The “steak” is as no better than a cheap pub minute steak and the fries were ok, more on par with A&W.The atmosphere is nice and our server was friendly and provided great service which raises my rating from a 1 star to a 2 star.

Server was great although he presented the soup of a day as a beef stew when it was actually a beef soup. My medium steak appeared to be cooked perfect but was dry. Everything else was great.

Hostess name was Tora, found her to be unfriendly and she forgot us at the bar, we had to find her and ask for a table again, we finally got a table.. waited 15 minutes for a waitress. Ordered Prime Rib Baron (medium) it came very rare, supper was cold. And prime rib was 25% fat. Our waitress was Cass and she was a pleasant waitress, and the only reason I didn’t vote 1 star. I won’t go back. But if you like a bitter hostess, cold and undercooked and over expensive food, being ignored then this is your place to eat!
