I had the tuna, it was amazing. My wife had the Mediterranean chicken, she loved it, too.
At the end of the dinner, the bill was really fair for the food. I will definitely come back.

Ruined Birthday Dinner, Disrespectful Service & Health Concerns

We chose Cattle Baron to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday — expecting a nice dinner, some good service, and at least a basic level of hospitality. What we got instead was a complete disaster from start to finish.

The twice-baked potato came out dry and completely plain — no toppings, no butter, nothing. When we brought it up to our waitress, there was zero effort to correct it. Her response was “omg did I forget to bring it out?”. Strike one.

Then the birthday dessert arrived — it was burnt and inedible. We didn’t even finish one bite. When we mentioned the issue, the waitress told us — unbelievably — that two kitchen staff had taken bites of the brownie once it was returned to the kitchen and said it “tasted fine.” That’s not only completely unprofessional, it’s disgusting and raises serious health concerns. What kind of restaurant lets staff eat from a customer’s plate?

As if that wasn’t enough, two kitchen staff came out and stared us down from across the room after we made the complaint. It was intimidating and made us feel completely disrespected for speaking up. This was meant to be a birthday dinner — but we were treated like an inconvenience.

To make things worse, one of the girls at our table ended up sick later that night and was vomiting — and we can’t help but question the food safety and handling in that kitchen.

What was supposed to be a celebration turned into an experience we honestly wish we could forget. We won’t be returning, and we strongly caution others to think twice.

Food was great and server was good. The atmosphere was a bit off and music was very depressing.

Not Worth the Hype

We left pretty disappointed. The surf tasted like it had been cooked well before it hit the plate. It was tough and rubbery. The steak was a poor cut with a lot of gristle. The flavor was okay, but the texture ruined it.

The calamari and beef carpaccio were both decent.

Service was honestly the low point. The staff came across as rude and uninterested. They didn’t seem to care whether we were there or not.

At a low-end restaurant, this kind of meal might be expected. But at a place like Cattle Baron, which claims to specialize in steak, it was egregious. Especially at $125 per person. You’d expect quality, care, and basic hospitality. This missed the mark on all three.

To make matters worse, some members of our party chose to reduce their tips to reflect the poor service. The staff actually returned with the payment terminal and pressured them to complete a second transaction to increase the tip amount. Completely inappropriate and unprofessional.

Would not return, and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a proper steakhouse experience.

Absolutely delightful. One of the best steak houses I've been to in awhile. Staff was caring and helpful. Food was amazing and quite filling. We had French onion soup, baked brie, fresh oysters, the NY striploin, and the Ribeye. All were 10/10. I'm definitely going to come again and recommend this place to my friends. I would absolutely make this my new go to restaurant when wanting some comfort food.

We arrived earlier than anticipated and we were seated quickly. It took a while for our server to come to our table and when he did, he spoke very low - it was difficult to hear him. He asked us if we wanted water, filled out glasses, then left without taking our drink order. Again, it took a while before he returned to take our order. We ordered the calamari, steak Oscar, and prime rib. The calamari smelled fishy and had a rubbery texture. The hollandaise sauce on the steak seemed like it had been left under the heat lamp as it was browned on top. The prime rib was very grisly. We hadn't eaten since the morning in anticipation of the amazing meal we expected to have because we were celebrating our anniversary (which was never acknowledged and was noted when the reservation was made)

The one thing that was amazing was the Irish Creme Brule we split for dessert. Definitely not the meal or service that we expected for a $218 meal.

Megan was our server tonight and she went above and beyond for my husband and I. It’s our 10 year marriage anniversary and she was so sweet. We really enjoyed our evening and can’t wait to come back.
