The margarita pizza was great but the steak was not very good. Very fatty with little flavour. The crispy potatoes were great though.
This is the first time to Charcut and we were impressed! We visited the University District location. Lots of parking options, very helpful and friendly staff. Great value for the money in my opinion. The only downside was that it was quite noisy and difficult for someone with hearing difficulties. Having said that we would not hesitate in going back.
Loved the steak dish, potatoes and.... the kale Caesar is amazing!!!!!!! The calamari had a weird shaved pork in it...looked not great. Weird. Like Saran Wrap. It did taste good but it didn't need that. We really enjoyed our evening.
Our server Alice, was very lovely as was everyone who popped by to refill water, etc ... The food itself was only "ok". The cold cuts, cheese and bread were my personal highlights. My friend and I both had pastas and tried each others'. She had the boar pasta and I had the carbonara. I found both to be overly salty. With the cheese, that puts it over the top. My pasta was also undercooked. So, not terrible but not great.
We loved this restaurant so much we went two nights in a row. As it was attached to our hotel it was so easy. But more importantly, it was so good!!!!! And the server Cleo ( whom we had both nights, accidentally) was excellent. She knows her stuff, great recommendations, a highly capable server and just a lovely person! Food was excellent. Highly recommend the blistered tomatoes, and the funghi pizza. Wow! Wine menu was great! Cocktails well done!
The service was great and the food was really good. Would I say that the Bison was worth $49, no. I would also add that there is one big issue, and I suspect it is part of the reason that the place was not packed full. The signage is horrible, and in the dark it is basically none existent. There is a really small sign over the doorway, it is not lit up, and the doorway is in a cubby hole. Add that there is no phone line into the restaurant and you have a high potential of not finding the place. Perhaps the writeup in OpenTable should include that it is in the base of the hotel.
Excellent meal. Recommend the octopus, blistered tomatoes, and the flaming sausage. Will be back to try more.
My two friends and I all had an amazing experience at Charcut. Our server was amazing and just the right amount of attentive considering we like to chat A LOT! We were celebrating a birthday and she brought us complimentary bubbly to start. Our food was delicious and reasonably priced for all we did get. The owners stopped at our table too which was great. I will definitely be back...thanks for such a wonderful lunch experience!
We've had a couple of meals at CharCut in University District and we love it. The food is excellent and novel, the atmosphere is great, the value is excellent. Its a favorite spot. You will not be disappointed.
This was a good spot for lunch. The daily lunch special is generous and well priced. We'll try it again for dinner.

Ciara was a delight as our server, and very knowledgeable. She made exceptional recommendations for selections and combinations. I'm not easy to surprise while dining, but the Wild Boar Agnolotti was really exceptionally well done, with a blend of flavours staged to perfection. The Insalata Verde is nice and the Blistered Vine Tomatoes area is a familiar but very well done take on that dish. The "whole pig mortadella, pistachio" and hard sheep cheese was a great recommendation together, and the portion was generous. I will definitely be back to run the rest of the menu.
Everything was exceptional. Highly recommend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and were very impressed by Tyra who was attentive and pleasant. Will definitely return.
The food was unreal! Everything came out in a good amount of time and our waitress was very communicative! We went here for a birthday and it definitely did not disappoint!
We ordered prime rib 6 ox &8 oz one to be medium & one medium rare. Instead received some kind of of steak both done more than requested. Potatoes were excellent. We were confused as to what we received thinking maybe we misread the menu. When we were finally able to get our waitress's attention she confirmed our order was served wrong & apologized. By then we had eaten half our meal. She offered us a free dessert which we did not want so my husband asked if he could get a 3-4 oz of prime rib to see if he would like it if we returned. He did receive a tiny slice of well done prime rib with half fat along with another serving of potatoes served by a different waiter. We had to ask for our bill as no one came back to our table. In receiving the bill we were charged for prime rib along with the original 2 orders. Think in the end the end that extra charge got reversed & we received credit for an appetizer we had ordered & consumed. The whole experience was a gong show. We arrived a few minutes early for our reservation & got seated in the first table closest to patrons entering & exiting. We asked for another table & were told we could only move one table further in although there were some other quieter location tables. So much for reservations. Our waitress did tell us she was new. At no time were we rude & never did we raise our voice with her but after she acknowledged her mistake she was not seen in the restaurant so have no idea what happened to her. If she was new & made a mistake a manager could have come out & apologized & handled the situation professionally. We think the new employee took the fall for an error whether it be hers or the kitchen. We are sad for the young lady who needs to be working. Perhaps management needs to spend more time making sure staff is being adequately trained & taking responsibility when mistakes happen. Not a restaurant we recommend.
