I was there for a corporate event. We had a prefix menu to order from most of my colleagues did not enjoy their meal, especially the steak. Apparently it was not chewable and they barely ate one bite. The cheesecake was not even a cheesecake. It was just Cream with crumbles spread across the plate. The people who had the chicken seem to be OK with it overall the food was not what we had expected.

Went here for a birthday dinner with my friend and the service was quick and friendly. The ambiance is very nice inside we were basically the only ones but it was a weekday around 1pm. I really enjoyed all the food and it’s plated really nicely as well. Good portion sizes with nice flavour. I would definitely be back to try more menu items.

Let me tell ya. There are a lot of great restaurants on this block. Places with great food, service and drinks. This place is the exemplar of them all. Do yourself a favor and stop by, its a cut above the rest.

This is my second time staying at the Alt Hotel and dining at Charcut. It's always a disappointment. I had the pork belly starter which is really bacon on toothpicks, tasty - but a stretch to call it pork belly. I ordered the Alberta strip steak and it's a low quality cut! It was tough, a bit too much fat gristle, and not a good experience to eat. I sat at the bar and watched the bartender keep busy doing 'busy' work while I waited for wine refills. He re-stocked the wine by glass bottles even though he had plenty on hand as is. He chatted with staff, he checked his phone, and never checked in on me until I flagged him. This place is intentionally mediocre, there is no concerted effort to be something good. Avoid this place if you're expecting good Alberta beef and definitely avoid it if you expect good bar service.

Great atmosphere, service was really good. The food is not worth the prices. I’m more than willing to pay for good food, but this place is a let down. Appetizers were good, the steaks were very disappointing. You could probably get an equivalent steak at somewhere like Boston Pizza, but you’re paying steakhouse prices.

The Manager + Team went out of their way to support a mistaken food order [My mistake]. I did not read the menu properly and when my food came with an item, of which I strongly disliked however was listed on the menu, they were very friendly and helpful to cook me a new order. The food was very, very good and highly impressed by my first experience here.

Our server was awesome and super kind. But I do have to say our steaks were underwhelming and over cooked. We ordered 3 steaks. 2 medium rare and 1 medium well. All 3 came medium well. I wasn’t willing to wait for another medium rare, but my mother sent hers back and it came back out medium well again. Servers were super apologetic and agreed they were over cooked. They ended up comping us two deserts which is roughly 30 bucks and the steaks were 80 each. Idk probably won’t be back. But maybe my experience was an outlier.

We celebrated our 8 year anniversary here and it is the best meal I have eaten in a very long time. We had the fried cheese for an appetizer and I will dream about it. The texture was unreal! We then shared the pepperoni pizza and the strip steak and both were a 10. The crust on the pizza was absolute perfection. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone! Especially for a special event.

I had a wonderful experience thanks to my amazing server Olivia. We received exceptional service that is very rare in today’s day in age. Constantly refilling water, offered fantastic recommendations and even made sure we were comped for the late food. Olivia deserves a huge shout out for her exceptional work that girl knows her menu and how to serve. Thank you Olivia.

The meal had its ups and downs. Started with the fried gnocchi which came undercooked. Ordered the asparagus which was good but only came with 5 pieces for the table of 3. A little disappointing as they do tout the menu to be served family style. Do recommend the carbonara. Ordered the dry aged bone in ribeye. It was cooked medium rare as requested. I would recommend a little more care be given in selecting the cut for the signature dish with attention to trim. However, we did enjoy it. Dessert took forever but the server owned up to the delay and comped it for us. Overall a pleasant evening.
