First visit January 03: I had lunch with a friend on Saturday and it was so good I persuaded my husband to have Brunch, the next day (Sunday). We were not disappointed. The hash browns were perfectly seasoned and cooked. The poached eggs were soft, and expertly cooked and the bacon you can see was delicious, and the avocado was perfectly ripe. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the Eggs Benedict and was very enthusiastic about the food. On Saturday our server was a young gentleman named Harsh. He was efficient, attentive friendly and a great representative of the restaurant. On Sunday our server was Mia who was equally friendly attentive and enthusiastic. Lunch on Saturday for both of us was a salad with an addition of cooked salmon. The salad was great but the salmon was outstanding. I should have taken pictures. This restaurant is a hidden gem. Loads of parking. Tucked away, easy to get to once you know, so use your GPS. The menu is on their website. Oh, and you make reservations right to the restaurant and they phone you back to confirm… how like this fabulous place to be low key with their communication too. Thank you for two super restaurant experiences. 🥇

Very disgusting that a restaurant cancels a confirmed reservation 20 min before the time of the booking. I was traveling from the deep south and had left early enough to account for rush hour traffic and was almost at the establishment when my daughter called to advise that she had just received a call that our reservation was cancelled.
Very poor business practice.
Will not ever dine here and will make sure to share our experience with others.
Edited to respond to the manager’s response …. When your restaurant contacted my daughter to cancel the reservation the reasoning provided was a larger group had come in as walk ins, therefore our reservation was cancelled, she was told the manager had instructed that our reservation be cancelled to accommodate this larger group….very clearly $$$ driven. Or was it that your ventilation stopped working for a party of two but worked great for a large group of walk ins?
If you are going to go lie about why you cancelled a reservation it may be a good idea to ensure all involved parties are on the same page when phone calls are made to cancel reservations last minute.
It’s OK though because at the end of the day I managed to find a fantastic eatery nearby the venue we were attending the play at (you know, the same play the large group of walk ins was attending) and we had a great meal.
Seeing your response here saying the ventilation was out when my daughter was clearly told it was to accommodate a large group further reinforces the fact I will never support your establishment, I will never recommend it, and will ensure everyone I knows how shady its management is.

Went there for a late lunch with my family.
Service was a bit slow, but understandable as the waitress was there alone.
When it came time to pay the bill the server did not give me the machine but rather held it and ran the charge herself, which was odd.
I asked for the receipt and she gave me the itemized bill instead, again, this was odd. I asked for the receipt, and it took her some time to print it off.
She eventually did and when I reviewed the receipt, i duscovered she gave herself a generous tip, without my knowledge.
I thought this was very dishonest. I would have tipped her, always do.
We won't be returning.

We were so excited to try this hidden gem out. We are going to a play nearby and this place looked so good! Made a reservation, received a call the day prior confirming it. Then literally less than 30 minutes before our reservation (on our way there already) they called to cancel due to having more people walking in. Isn't the point of a reservation to reserve a table?! It is truly unfortunate this company does not honour their confirmed reservations. We will continue never trying this place.

This is a positive review not a negative one, read on! We visited for lunch after the Remembrance ceremony on 11th. The place was swamped with people and they weren't expecting so many. The server apologized and said there would be a long wait for the food. He was overwhelmed, as was the kitchen. We appreciated his honesty and we were OK to wait. We were glad we did because the special burger and fries was superb, and such good value. One of the best burgers for ages! When we left we thanked the chef who was busily creating excellent food under pressure. So this place deserves your business because they worked really hard to make great fresh food and they were humble and polite.

why did i find this place so late? the grand ville island beer (the original order is out) is surprisingly good. the fish taco, calamary and the CF burger are all wonderful. will definitely come back
