Cheongdam Korean BBQ

Even though the restaurant was quiet and there were numerous servers, we had to flag people down regularly if we needed something. The cooking surface was not working initially but no one had checked it and did not come back to check it. When we flagged them down they discovered that the cannister was loose and reconnected it and then it went fine. Later in the service the cannister ran out but, again, no one had come to check that things were good and working properly. We did not leave hungry but some of the meat was not great quality and some that was supposed to be marinated was not. One of the items on our first list was not delivered to the table and we had to ask for it later. We had both green tea and water at the table but they only gave us each one cup and we had to ask for a second one so that we could drink both beverages. Even though there were only three of us at a four seat table, we found it crowded with the various side dishes, appetizers and meats. The green tea went cold very fast which meant it either arrived already not hot or the tea pot was not insulated at all, or both, and so it wasn't very long before we could not drink the tea. Also, and this did not affect us particularly because we are not huge eaters, but, while they advertise as being all you can eat, it really is not. They put a limit on one of the items. The other items on their list you can order a maximum of three times. You could check off every single item each of those three times and have more than enough food but that is still not “all you can eat“. Compared to many of their competitor Korean barbeque restaurants, they did not do well. We would not go back.

A fun experience sharing cooking and family time that we hadn't done as a family in some time. Food was tasty, dipping sauces were flavorful and the bill was a welcome change from overpriced Steakhouses downtown. Highly recommended.

We went here for my birthday. It was absolutely awesome. The food is incredible. The people there were very kind. It was the best choice for my birthday dinner. Everyone in my group had so much fun. I can't wait to go again!

wow, ‘you guys must leave right now ‘without annoying anybody is the worst words that I never met in restaurant experience. Rude management, 18% tips charged and asked us to leave lol, so why we pay the tips.

We had such a great experience at Cheongdam Premium Korean BBQ! The food was amazing — fresh and flavorful.The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. The place felt peaceful and cozy, not too crowded when we visited, which made the dining experience even more enjoyable. Definitely a great spot for delicious food and good vibes! 🔥

We went for AYCE last night and overall the food was decent, but the service experience was a bit strange. They accidentally brought us pork belly instead of beef brisket, which we didn’t realize until the real beef brisket came out later. We didn’t complain since mistakes can happen, but it was a little disappointing.

Another odd moment — we asked one of the servers (in Korean) for a barley tea, and she acted like she didn’t understand Korean at all. Later, we saw her chatting fluently in Korean with other staff, which felt a bit awkward and unnecessary.

The food itself was fine and came out fairly quickly, but those small interactions made the overall experience feel less friendly than expected. Hopefully, it was just an off night.

Absolutely amazing experience. Came here on a busy Saturday evening and everyone looked so happy to be there. Greeted right away, sat at a beautifully set up table and was served by a gentleman named Kedan and Junil and both were attentive and always checked up on us. Food was even better, ordered the premium with Wagyu and meat literally melted in your mouth.

I would highly recommend this place and will definitely be coming back again.

Decided to eat here after Baekjeongs horrible service. We had a few family meals here, and let me tell you a secret it’s much more Food to order 2 separate dinner portions than a 2 in 1 dinner to save $10. Overall good service and good and nicely priced.

This was my first time visiting Cheongdam Korean BBQ in Royal Oak, and it definitely won’t be my last! The staff were so friendly and helpful, taking the time to explain the menu and recommend the best dishes to try. The meat selection was fantastic – you can order up to three full rounds with the all-you-can-eat option, though my partner and I only made it through two because the portions were so generous and filling.

My favorites were definitely the marinated meats – so tender, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. Everything came out fresh and delicious, and the experience of grilling at the table made it even more fun. Great service, amazing food, and such a good value. Highly recommend for anyone who loves Korean BBQ or wants to try it for the first time!

I used to come to Cheongdam many times and always had a really good experience, and even gave 5 stars reviews. However, this time was extremely disappointing, especially the poor servive.

The whole system seems to have changed — both the food and the service are not like before. Service was messy and unprofessional. My order for beef ribs was forgotten twice. I had mentioned it was my birthday, but nothing was done until my friend reminded them at the very end, and only then did one gentleman staff (probably the manager) bring some ice cream. The other staffs just stood around with unpleasant expressions.

We came at 7:30pm and many dishes were already sold out, but no one informed us in advance. Some staff were nice, but others were unfriendly and rushed to clean up well before the 10pm closing, which made us feel very unwelcome.

The food quality and taste have gone down a lot compared to before.
Very bad customer service. Never coming back.

Me and my friends have been going here since they opened last year and safe to say that the quality has been consistent since. The restaurant has one of the best pork in the entire city, no other korean bbq tops the meat quality here. The manager is also really nice and generous.
