We are a Chicken on way regular customer in this branch. We always get our fries hot and crispy, chicken crispy skin, juicy inside.
Ordered hungry man for dinner and today we are so disappointed. To a point that we almost put the entire meal to waste.
Fries was cooked but soggy, looks like was up before the cooking time ends. Chicken is dry and cold. Maybe its old and re-fried? I don't know.
It used to be always the best!

One of the best fried chicken spots in Calgary, definitely worth checking out if you’ve never been! I’ll be coming back for sure :)

I have been a loyal customer of Chicken On The Way since 1972 and have been mostly visiting the original location on Kensington Road. Last evening i tried the Mackenzie Towne location for the first time. What a huge disappointment!!!

I ordered a snack pack and when I got home and opened it up, I was extremely disappointed. The box was barely half full, the fries were undercooked, the chicken was mealy, there was zero seasoning on the fries, and my beloved corn fritter was missing.

To add insult to injury, I waited for over 15 minutes for my order. At least with the Kensington Road location, they let you know if there is going to be a wait for your order. And just to highlight, the prices are higher than Kensington Road.

They had a sign on the counter that said, "as about our daily special", and guess what, the order taker said she didn't know what the special was since nobody told her.

Bottom line, I will drive out of my way to purchase Chicken On The Way from anywhere than Mackenzie Towne!

I picked up a family chicken dinner today, and it was the worst OVER cooked chicken I've ever had in my life!! I don't know if they are double frying it or not paying attention but it was hard and dried out. I will NEVER come back here and I recommend everyone go elsewhere. Go to Mary Browns in Mackenzie town.

The food was great, I was annoyed when I got home and I didn’t have my gravy. First world problems I know but I love gravy. I called to let them know and the girl working tonight offered to drop me off my gravy once she finished her shift. I hope this gets back to her. I didn’t want her to take her own time but that’s great service. She apologized and admitted they were busy. It happens. Her response to the problem was exceptional and she deserves the compliment. Thank you for trying to make it right!

Ordered a 3 pc chicken meal, paid 16 dollars. 2 pc were tiny and had barely any meat on them. The one big pc was full of bone, quality of chicken was bad, the chicken was greasy, yet kinda dry, not sure how they managed that. Will not come back, plenty of cheaper, better options than this establishment. The corn fritter was good.

I’ve always ordered the chicken and it’s been excellent. This time we decided to get fish and chips and I will never order it again. The fish was more batter than fish and the chips were burnt and greasy. We were so disappointed. All I can say is DONT order Fish &Chips ? we gave it to the birds, I hope they don’t fall from the sky as the batter was so heavy

The fries tasted really weird, and as you can see from the picture, they are saturated in oil. They are inedible and soggy, making them not eatable."

What a waste of money. Greasy chicken, no meat on breast and overcooked smelly fries. Lesson learned.

I have ordered from your location for some time. I always order bonus all white. Always three good size pieces. I was there last week and ordered the same. When I got home and opened the box I was very disappointed. The three pieces were one very small piece of breast maybe three bites. The other two pieces were wings very small. If this is the new order I will not be back the price is not worth it . I appreciate your feedback

I have had chicken from Chicken on the Way before at another location but didn't much care for the fries. This time I ordered from McKenzie Towne location as I wanted to try fish and chips of all things that night. I was pleasantly surprised at the very generous proportions! There was enough in the order to feed 2 people! And these fries are not what I remembered but the fries I grew up with in another province. Fresh cut thick with two huge portions of tasty fish with tartar. The owners or managers were an absolute delight and so friendly and fast. Thank you!
