Chili Island Chinese & Thai

This restaurant is a hidden jewel of Asian cuisine! The freshness and general quality of the dishes surpass any other similar establishment in town. What I enjoy the most is perhaps the unique dishes you cannot find anywhere else, like their Swimming Rama, or the Shanghai noodles in saté sauce. That’s right - their fusion dishes blend the best flavours from Chinese and Thai cuisines creating a whole new dining experience.
To top it all, Pinky - Chili Island’s hostess - is one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet.
All of this for a very reasonable price. Best deal in town for ver high quality food! Don’t miss it!

First time I ordered through Chili Island, SE Calgary and I cannot vouch for their Chinese cuisine, but they definitely DO NOT know Thia food. My vermicelli order with beef and shrimp entailed 99% noodles, saturated in a soya sauce flavour, not a Thai peanut taste. Beef and shrimp consisted of 4 small pieces each ... in fact amongst the mega, mega noodles, it was hard to find either. No veggies except a few small pieces of red pepper. Vermicelli is about broth, veggies, protein. There was zippo broth; just mega, mega saturated soya sauce flavoured noodles. And my order of egg rolls were missing. Definitely NOT a Thailand cuisine restaurant.

As other reviewers mentioned, super long order wait time. Be prepared to wait for at least half an hour for take out. Not recommended.

When I tell you this place has a spot in my fat heart, the food is delicious! Every time we order our food is so hot and filled with flavour. The service as well is always so friendly! It’s my girlfriend and I’s favourite spot.

We ordered take-out on Christmas Eve 2025. Imagine the restaurant open to 10 pm! The food was excellent and the 6 of us enjoyed it immensely. Every dish we ordered weas cooked to perfection and tasted SO good. Thank you Chili Island!!!

Love the food here. It's our favorite place for Chinese food so we wouldn't go anywhere else! It's a 45 minute drive from home to the restaurant and we still go regularly. Best food ever!

Food is good but honestly trying to pickup from this place sucks. Called at 5:20 Was told on the phone pick up was 40 minutes, clarified on phone that would be 6:00 and the lady on the phone said more like 6:10. Got there for 6:10 but didn’t actually get any food until 6:40. Would not recommend and will not be back.

Wow…first time eating there…probably not the last time. Only one other table, order was out in good time. Dumplings were out of this world good. Ordered a dinner for two, for three of us and we had to pack enough for another person. Bottom line is amazing food, huge portions, reasonably priced, massive bargain. Note…we had Chinese cuisine, not the Thai. 100% recommended this restaurant if you want amazing Chinese cuisine 👍

I am disappointed by my old standby. Ordered delivery (from the restaurant itself) tonight and things just don't taste like they used to! The ginger beef lacked kick, and the sauce in the bottom for it was thin, not thick and sticky. The chicken fried rice seemed very different than it used to be. Not much flavour to it. And my favourite dish, the dumplings, they forgot the chili oil and vinegar dips, which are a highlight to have with their great dumplings! Please never forget the chili oil and vinegar! And two fortune cookies for an amount of food that could feed probably 6 to 8 people was a bit ridiculous, too.

Been here before food is alright, good portions, but holy friggen wait time.. today we ordered take out they told us 40 minutes for one order, we're currently over a hr and 40, and we keep being told it's going to be 10 more minutes.. aswell as they're trying to pressure us into paying for the order normally no issue but one more 10 minute request and we're gone food or not.. dinner party we ordered for us already coming to an end. Not thrilled, will not be back.
Edit: After waiting close to 2 hours we finally received their our food, we were told we recieved a discount on the meal which we absolutly didn't.. nothing but lies and wasted time in this place
