Clay Oven Indian Restaurant

I gave this place so many chances. From DoorDash to in person. No dairy. No paneer. We have an allergy. Tonight was the last time. In person and specified a dairy allergy and they INCLUDE paneer. I said it several times and repeated it in several ways. So we sent it back and it came back after we finished all our dishes. At least comp the dish. Not returning.

All items in dinner buffet was very good especially fish pakora.

We have consistantly enjoyed the tasty selection of punjabi food at the Clay Oven. Tonight we had a combination of items from the menu and some of us chose the evening buffet.
Excellent choices and great service from Ms.Aman and Ms.Preet throughout our time there.The owner Bindu takes great care to make sure that her customers are well taken care of.

Clay oven is one of our favorite restaurants in Alberta and definitely the most favorite Indian Buffet. The atmosphere is warm, servers very friendly, food is hot, items replenished often *especially the crisp hot YUMMY Naan, the cold selections are delish including a *fresh* green salad ~> which is very rare to find at other Indian buffets visited. There is a great variety of selections for both lunch and dinner buffets which also include several tasty vegetarian dishes. I like that we can see them cooking too. Attention to cleanliness is visible. Thank you to all the Team at Clay Oven for providing such consistent wonderful and affordable dining experiences!!

I just picked up a lunch buffet take out container and it’s just as amazing as I remembered it being when I worked in the area many years ago!! Definitely a worth while place to eat at!

First time visited here and tried their Dal makhni and Tandoori Naan.
Dal makhni for sure recommend as there was no cream in it and their naan are really soft and crunchy.

Went on Sunday evening for the buffet, it had a limited selection but the food was excellent and hot, it was also very reasonably priced.

I’ve been to Clay oven a number of times, and I would sum it up as good solid food and great value.
I’ve been to the lunch buffet several times and for $17, it’s IMO the best combination of good food and good value you can get for Indian food in Calgary. The buffet always has the ever popular butter chicken and usually a beef or goat, curry, along with a couple of dals and a muttar paneer, or aloo gobi, and bhajis, rice etc..
There is of course naan, and it’s made on the tandoor oven and it comes out hot and fresh.

We used Clay Oven for catering at our wedding / Nikkah ceremony. Bhindu and her team were fantastic. She treated us like family from our initial consultation – going out of her way to accommodate our needs. Her catering services and food are fantastic. Would definitely recommend and will be frequenting this restaurant many times in the future.
