Claypot Asian Food Kitchen (McMahon)

I had the duck breast and I still dream about it sometimes.

Had dinner here in June 2025. Food and service were both excellent. We had vegetarian spring rolls, tofu mushrooms and broccoli and ROASTED BEEF FRIED WIDE NOODLE. All of the dishes were great, as well as the relaxed ambiance of the restaurant. Great place to go for a nice meal. This is a hidden gem!

Food was really good and prices were reasonable

Went here for a Mother and Daughter Night out. We usually are not very adventous when it comes to food so this place was a bit of a stretch for us but everything we had was absolutely amazing. Our server gave us some amazing suggestions and was very patient with us as we himed and hawed over what to order. When everything came out it was hot and fresh and tasted amazing. Will definitely come back if we are ever in town again.

Totally impressed by the claypot rice here, It’s not the usual traditional style, but it’s packed with flavour and the combination is great, huge portions, so the price is quite fair, would 100% recommend if you’re looking for something tasty and different.

Claypot Asian Food Kitchen (McMahon) is hands down the best Asian restaurant in Calgary! Every dish we tried was a hit—from the tender and flavorful Dongpo Chicken Wings to the beautifully plated sake-cured salmon and tuna. The Coconut Shrimp was crispy perfection, and the Braised Beef with Noodle Soup was comforting and rich. We also loved the bold flavors of the Mala Fish hot pot and the tender, smoky Black Pepper Duck Breast—absolutely top notch! The presentation was stunning, the flavors were balanced and bold, and the entire digital dining experience made ordering seamless and fun. Highly recommended for anyone craving elevated Asian cuisine in Calgary!

A must visit! Their food is one of the best that you can have in the city. Visit during lunchtime to get faster service as there's not many people who visit at this time.

Totally disappointed. Ordered salt & Pepper chicken spicy. Got bland chicken cover with dough. The chicken fried rice was as bland as you can get. Totally disappointed.

We’re so happy we chose to come here for dinner! We picked it based on the reviews and weren’t disappointed! The food was fresh, flavourful, delicious and different! We started with dumplings- perfection- and the cured salmon & tuna, which was served with a spectacular flair. Then we finished with 2 of the clay pots - full of flavour and so warming on a cold night! Plus the service was thoughtful and very helpful, and the video decor is amazing. Definitely highly recommended!

The place looks very unassuming from the outside, and I was hesitant at first because I thought I might be in the wrong spot. However, once inside, the experience was wonderful. The projector on the wall was a brilliant touch—it made me feel like I was in one of those immersive museums. The food was excellent, with a mix of traditional Chinese dishes and fusion options. The main dishes are mostly Chinese, like claypot and handmade noodles, but they also offer fusion appetizers like beef tartare, shrimp nachos and tuna tataki. We had the beef tartare and claypots, and everything was fantastic. The black sesame chips served with the tartare were delicious on their own and paired perfectly with the dish. The claypots were great too, served with soy sauce and a veggie side, and the server kindly offered extra portions of both. The service was attentive without being intrusive. Overall, a great experience!

elevated Chinese food. love it. great vibe. projectors cast motion views on the wall. lighting is excellebnt. im very picky about the lighting of resturants. i find most Chinese resturants have super bright lighting and i wear my sunglasses all the time when eating. but Claypot has a very gentle yet sufficient ambient lighting. I love their claypot duck with rice, mala fried rice, and fried milk dessert. will go again.
