Cornerstone's 2026 YYCHotChocolateFest entry is divine, and proof you shouldn't mess with perfection. The homemade marshmallow melts slowly in a just perfect cup of chocolate goodness. They also have amazing homemade cookies, all day options, and feature a great local selection of Canadian goods and gifts in their Empower Market. The vibe is 100% cozy, every time.
They also offer music lessons, art lessons and markets through the year, and the summer festival here is a major highlight in the neighbourhood.

This is such a cool local gem. A great place to grab a coffee and a treat, listen to some live music, and pickup some goodies to bring home (soup, small gifts, etc.). The atmosphere is welcome and cozy. Lovely patio in the summertime. Staff are all super friendly. I haven’t personally signed up for music lessons but what an amazing use of the space. 11/10 recommend.

On Sunday Jan 18th we went for the Irish jam session.
Honestly, we were disappointed with how very slow the service was to get our food and coffees. First time I went it was great but this Sunday was a definite muss. Food was so expensive for what we got. No sugar free cola drinks.
The music was nice it would have been lovely to have some singing as well.

My boys take piano lessons here and I love the fact I can sit, relax and enjoy coffee and a treat.
The live music is always enjoyable as we have been to many Jazz Jam nights on Thursdays.
Highly recommend.

Saw this place online so stoped in on our way to the park. Cool idea and set up but sadly the worst coffee we have ever had. We had a vanilla latte and an americano. Our drinks tasted sour, burnt and spent. Do not recommend this place.

This is my fourth year as an instructor at Cornerstone Music cafe. I greatly appreciate the sense of community in my place of work, the realistic living wage and the value the owner's place on their staff. Cornerstone is a fantastic hub for musicians, both professional and amateur.
Won’t be back

This place is a gem! I first came to Cornerstone as a customer coming for the concert and dinner one Saturday evening. The atmosphere was beautiful, warm, friendly, and cozy. Great music and great food. I was so pleased with all of the gluten-free options. Then I started bringing my kids here for music lessons. Their guitar teacher was skilled, friendly, and sensitive to their unique needs. Now I also work here as a teacher, teaching art on Monday evenings. I love the community feel, The warmth and friendliness here, the relaxed and cozy vibe, and the support and opportunities they give me to express my own creativity in the way I approach teaching. I also really appreciate their approach to teaching, which is about supporting the whole person, embracing each student's uniqueness, in addition to teaching the curriculum.

I love teaching at Cornerstone because Sylvia creates a wonderful atmosphere. I always look forward to seeing my students in such a fun, well-run place. The parents can relax during their kids' lesson and enjoy a yummy beverage. It's so civilized. I'm addicted to the pour-over coffee and my family has really enjoyed all the yummy food I've brought home.

Cornerstone music is amazing. I grew up taking lessons here and am currently a teacher there now. It’s an amazing place to be taught something new on a variety of instruments, grab an amazing cup of coffee/tasty GF lunch, or read a book and relax. Cornerstone does so much for the music community in Calgary and is an excellent example of a top tier musical environment. The staff is super friendly and (it’s worth mentioning twice) the food is GREAT. Love it!

I’ve had the absolute privilege of teaching at Cornerstone Music Cafe for the past 6 years, and I can honestly say I’ve loved every single minute of it. This place isn’t just a music school—it’s a genuine community hub that feels like home the moment you walk through the door. If you’re looking for lessons, a performance space, or just a great coffee surrounded by incredible music energy, do yourself a favor and come to Cornerstone. Six years in, and I still look forward to walking through those doors every single day. This place is pure magic.
