Went here for lunch today, been years since I went to the Southland location, last time it was known as Costa Vida, must have had a management change? Unfortunately not as I remembered my last visit, the place seems to be showing it’s age, same decor, paint, floors etc, chairs are falling apart, overall not an inviting atmosphere, would be nice for some Mexican music, new paint, furniture etc, food was at best average nothing outstanding,my friend’s quesadilla was over $20,the protein was a few small shrimp,to me this seems excessive for a fast food chain, definitely not a “value” item, total bill with shrimp burrito came to just over $39,doubt I would recommend this place or consider returning, lots of other options to explore.

Nothing but good thin gas to say about this place.

I enjoy the menu because it’s so different than other Mexican places like chipotle or the other Mexican place in Towne mucho burrito. 100/100 place!!!!!!!

Also the people are nice here

We had been there multiple times when it was Costa Vida. We didn't know they changed from the chain to their own brand now with a different name now. The menu is similar but not quite the same. We went there yesterday and were surprised by the changes. The prices were also higher and the food wasn't the same quality or portions. I ordered the 2 enchiladas and they were hardly filled and I also got hardle any rice or beans with it. My container was like half full. My husband got the nachos and his container was a lot more full even though the prices were like the same. I got the horchata as well and it was also expensive. We spent like $45 for two meals and a drink which we could have got for a lot less somewhere else. Then today I woke up with the runs and have been sick in the bathroom all day. I havent eaten anything since we went to Costa so that's the only thing that could have made me sick. We also go to Mexico regularly and got back from a vacation a couple weeks ago and never got sick there once and we come home and eat Mexican food here and get sick the next day. Oh the irony. I would like the manager to contact me about getting my money back.

This is no longer a costa Vida just so you are aware…they use a lot of the same branding and claim the recipes are the same, which I don’t k ow how they get away with but the name has been changed to Costa…I don’t k is how this is legal.

I love their 3 leches, this is the main reason I go there. I’ve tried their tacos and nachos, it was good but the 3 leches can’t be beat. Amazing staff as well 🤍🙏🏽

Excellent service on my first visit there. Just watch the takeout containers if not eating at home. Mine was leaking a little bit from the bottom as I was on a work break and eating in my car. Otherwise, everything was excellent. Not disappointed for my first visit there.

The order came from Skip and released a disgusting wet dog odour. Too bad skip doesn’t give refunds for bad smelling mouldy food that went straight into the garbage. Will never order from this chain ever again.

The burrito i had was very average. Nothing special at all. I think too expensive for what you get.

Good food. Friendly service. Food tasty… BUT Since change from Costa Vida to Costa Fresh Canada, service and offers seem to be lowered. As a point collector and regular customer I used to get emails about promotions such as triple points or Christmas bonus gift cards. I went to purchase some and was told promo is over. No emails no heads up like I got in the past. Very disappointing and too bad for business as we gifted several cards each year in the past and will be looking elsewhere to send business with our gift cards this year. Website and promotions needs work in Canada!

Absolutely delicious! We had horchatas, quesos and tacos. Lots of gf options, generous portions, great prices, authentic flavours and helpful staff. Small spot with cozy interior, clean and comfy.

Why offer a rewards system if you aren’t going to honour it? Came in today to redeem my points and was turned away as they don’t accept the app rewards and now have a “new” rewards system. Either get rid of the app or honour your word.

Here’s my response: Thank you for the explanation, but this still doesn’t address the actual issue. I shouldn’t have to jump through multiple steps, visits, and transfers just to use points I already earned. Changing the program is one thing, but making it this complicated for customers isn’t a great look.
Your response also came across as dismissive rather than helpful. If the process has changed this much, it would’ve been better communicated clearly instead of putting the responsibility on the customer to figure it out in-store.
I understand businesses evolve, but customer service shouldn’t decline in the process. This experience has been frustrating, and it definitely impacts my willingness to return.

Doesn't take much to be kind, even rejection shouldn’t have attitude. Disappointing customer service by a “shift leader.” Asking for sour cream after accidentally dropping it shouldn’t be met with that kind of reaction.

I love going to this location and everyone is always so kind to me, especially Shelley (I’m sorry if I spelt it wrong), she is very sweet!
Unfortunately I dropped my sour cream and the lid opened, making it contaminated and I asked the other lady with the pony tail if I could replace the one I dropped. She said if I would like to purchase another one and I asked “I have to buy another one?” And she gave me attitude and said yes, of course. I already brought 35.00 worth of food and wanted to just go home so I told her “it’s okay, I’ll just eat the sour cream as is”. She instantly turned around and said thanks for coming and left. I get it’s a business but I haven’t left the store when I dropped it, it was right in front of the utensils counter. Showing kindness is not hard and maybe she’s having a tough morning or a hard week, but the tone you talk to people can really affect people. I don’t care about the sour cream but I do care about professional tones when speaking to other human beings.
