We’re done going here. So inconsistent. We are told something different every time we go about what is included and what is an extra charge. Horchata is now extra (which was most of the reason my kids wanted to go) and the prices keep increasing. A small salad is $14!

We came for lunch right when they opened. This is usually our favorite place, so it was disappointing this time. The food was good overall, but the refried beans were not actually refried — they were whole pinto beans in sauce. When we told the lady we wanted refried beans not pinto beans in sauce we were told that’s that is refried beans, which was surprising. Every other Mexican restaurant we’ve been to serves mashed refried beans, so this felt misleading. Thank you for taking the time to read this and we hope you consider offering traditional refried beans in the future.

Holy. What has happened here? Miserable workers. So bored, not friendly. Add a Broken piece of a chip on top? The warmers with food in it were all disgusting. Come on change it up. Put clean containers of beans in warming tray. Smile. Give a hoot you have a job! Put a real in tact chip on the top. Who owns and manages this place

Their maple sweet pork enchiladas was tasty and really hit the spot for lunch.
Horchata tasted like I was drinking a churro - works well if you have a sweet tooth and enjoy cinnamon/vanilla!

Costa Vida has my most favourite taco meal ever!!! Amazing house made tortillas! Staff is always super nice.
As someone who has frequently visited both the Royal Oak and Macleod Trail locations, I would definitely say that Royal Oak has higher food quality and they are a bit more generous with portions. Even though I moved to the south, I do go out of my way to the Royal Oak store sometimes for these reasons.
Additionally, I have to say I believe the company recently changed ownership and they are very bad at digital visuals. The menu boards are quite ugly and hard to follow and they used to be so nice! Not sure who made this choice.

I’ve gone here a few times and it’s always been great atmosphere, great service and great food. I have noticed a dip in the quality recently. I few beans have been raw/undercooked, the employees don’t seem to strain the beans at all if they’re even able to, it creates a very soupy burrito, and I did find a small hair in my salad. I’m hoping Costa can get back to its earlier quality as it was one of my favourite places in the city to have Mexican food.

Why is it a battle to have my food made how I like it here? Once again, after a long time from my last review, they argued tonight and wouldn't put pico in my chicken quesidilia. Why is this so hard for some of the staff? Others do it no problem, some charge extra. Can you please figure this out because I absolutely LOVE this place, but will stop going if I have to battle to get my food made how I want it. Its really such a simple request.

was my first time coming to costa vida i drive by all the time and decided today was the day. Erika helped me, i told her it was my first time and she recommended some great options (burritos and enchiladas) obvi i picked enchiladas. she was so sweet and even let me pick two options for my meat. i’ve never had such good customer service in a food chain, even though it was a short interaction! i’ll definitely be coming back to this location because of her:) thanks girl!! i hope you get a promotion 😎

Horrible food, asked for a burrito and it came in a bowl, no peppers or any veggies just some crab lettuce and tomato, my wife had a baja bowl crab aswell toss it in the bin
