Courtyard Restaurant & Rockies Sports Bar

This is a restaurant in name only. Let me first start by saying the staff were great. Welcoming, Attentive and Quick. The food however was not quality. Either the Chef is not a Chef, or management will not let them be a Chef. For a starter we ordered the Nachos. They were just Chips with some random topings and some cheese added as an afterthought. For our mains we ordered the bison burger and lobster ravioli. The ravioli looked congealed and bagged parmesion cheese was used. My burger had a bone (at least I hope it was a bone) in it. The food was brought to the seating area by a host, but via a 'bus boy' cart. Our hostess was quick to remedy, and we ended up not paying for the food. I should have read the reviews first. We went to another restaurant 150 meters away. There is Indian, Vietnamese, pizza and BBQ all close by.

Decided to come down to the bar after a day of workshops & while I do like the atmosphere & how nice it is, this bar can definitely be improved.

Food for starters was ok. I ordered a seafood pasta and while I did enjoy it, I will admit the kitchen staff did have to cut some corners on the seafood to keep that $20 price tag especially around the shrimp. Not to mention the sauce itself was very runny, very lemony for my taste, and was poured on too much to a point where it could be considered soup.

I did enjoy my drink but the service was unreasonably slow. I could only imagine the bar was short staffed based on how busy the bar was when I looked around the other night but it was definitely busier during my dinner so they could have had more people in staff if they could. Not to mention that my drink was literally on bar sitting there for about 5-10 min after I ordered which, if it was busier, may have been a safety hazard for me if someone had an opportunity to spike it.

I’m currently giving them the benefit of the doubt & may try something different if I come again, but there are some serious improvements they can make.

The draft beer selection was poor, I wanted a stout or porter or brown ale. The Red ale was too hoppy. But its a nice place.

Ordered room service while staying at the best western as it’s down stairs . Got the roasted chicken $28 and this want I got lol was horrible the chicken was so tiny and dry !! Wife got the salmon and was over cooked $30 !! Eat somewhere else when coming here !

I wish it was busier because this place could be a lot of fun if more people knew about it.

Worst pizza ever set in front of me. Server asked if I wanted a box for the three quarters that was left. I said no thanks. I'd have likely eaten the box. It would have had more flavor.

Save yourself the trouble and order skip the dishes. While staying at the best western after a long drive we decided to grab food at the Rockies sports bar and grill, the service (at 7pm on a Tuesday) was very slow. First drinks took well over 15 minutes, I had ordered a starter salad that the staff elected to bring with my main course then second drinks took about 12 minutes ( I had ordered a bottle of beer) the burger was actually quite good but everything else was very mediocre. 4 drinks 2 burgers with fries and a very late salad was over 80 dollars, not exactly wowing anyone with service.

The rice bowls and naan bread are great! The lobster ravioli was over taken by salt. Garlic bread tatsed old and stale.The service was probably the worst service I have ever experienced in a restraunt. The staff were friendly, but lacked the very basic skills need to serve tables. They were completely inattentive and unaware of their surroundings. We had to call them over mulitple times to correct our orders and top up or beverages. There were 2 servers and only 3 tables both times we came. Sadly, we wont be coming back.The staff need base level training on waiting tables effectively and efficiently.

“Sportsbar” doesn’t apply at all. Rather good restaurant at a fair price. Can't be seen from outside, you have to go into the hotel. Then you will find it there.

A really great place to eat, great service, delicious food. I had the fish and chips. It was 2 pieces of fish with fries. It was one of the best for sure. The next day for lunch I had the BLT. Very well prices meals and drinks. Happy customer here.
