Everything is good about this bistro: the food, the service and the location.
Had a lovely time and enjoyed a succulent striploin with a glass of Pinot noir, fresh bruschetta and an olive oil cake with pineapple, caramel and crème chantilly along a well made cup of cappuccino!
Bonus: open for breakfast with a nice well priced menu!
I always walk by this place when coming in to the office. A nice homey smell coming out of their doors.
The staff is friendly and I enjoyed a rather tasty Cinnamon French Toast with a cup of coffee. Great place to warm up and start the day
The morning coffee maker is so sweet! I like her service!
The service and atmosphere are nice but the food was subpar and presentation seemed to take priority over flavour. I want to come back and try the rest of the menu but very hesitant based on first impression.
The grapefruit matcha was overpowered by the grapefruit and didn't feel well balanced.
I appreciate the effort on the bruschetta but they diverged quite a bit from a traditional take, leading to a lot of left out flavours. Lack of basil, salt, and garlic makes it quite a bland appetizer.
Squid Ink Linguine was criminally under-sauced leading to a lot of dry bites and they cooked the squid in a way that you weren't left with a lot of texture.
Panna cotta was the best part of the meal. The flavours were well balanced and the crunch of the pistachios were contrasted nicely by the strawberry compote. Weird use of micro greens on the dessert.
A great restaurant with friendly and professional staff. The comfort food and atmosphere are excellent. We prefer the right side of the restaurant that is more quiet and intimate.
Great hole in the wall Italian spot, loved the YYC EXP menu. Will definitely return.
We had an absolutely amazing experience at Cucina during the YYC Food & Drink Experience! If you’re looking to elevate your taste buds to another level, this is the place to be. The chef’s magic touch brings every dish to life, exceeding all expectations.
From the outstanding flavors to the top notch service and spotless atmosphere, everything was simply perfect. A big high five to Cucina for delivering excellence in every way! Thank you for your warm hospitality we can’t wait to return soon!
Had a great opportunity to visit this fine restaurant and was quite satisfied. I’ve tried Cucina’s ongoing special menu with the bruschetta, pork chops and amazing panna cotta as a finisher. I was served in the most friendliest way and the menu series was brought at the great timings, didn’t have to wait and wasn’t rushed at all. The vibe was pretty attractive following the good restaurant ambient music. Definitely recommend this place.
Took us 20 to 30 minutes after sitting till anyone even acknowledged us for a drink order. At that point we were ready to order everything.
From then , it took 2 to 2.5 hours to finish our food. And no, we are not slow eaters.
No one asked us how our food was or even filled up our water. Server wouldn't even acknowledge us.
Would not recommend unless you got time to waste.
The only reason I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because our waiter, Anna, genuinely tried her best.
Food: The pasta lacked flavor, and the cheese plate was just thrown on a plate with no presentation whatsoever.
Atmosphere: There was little to no vibe—just felt dull.
I’m sorry, but for the price, I was expecting at least Barbarella-level service and food.
My advice is to please re-visit your food menu asap if you would want to stay competitive.

All in all, took 2.5 hours to eat here. We went there on Valentine’s Day. They were obviously not ready to serve that many covers. They are trying to pose as fine dining in the evening but also have a weird breakfast board menu above the kitchen. Appetizers were very simple, beet tartare and artichoke dip. Entrées took almost an hour and a half to get to the table and they were lukewarm. We were so hungry we didn’t bother sending it back to reheat. When dessert arrived, the orange Panna cotta we are looking forward to didn’t set right and had the texture of a pudding. We spent 150 on food and $80 in a bottle of wine. We definitely won’t be returning to Cucina.
A great place for a quick business lunch during weekdays or romantic dinner over weekends, as well as a gathering place for special occasions. Authentic Italian cuisine, contemporary setting and consistent service. Highly recommend!
This restaurant has a cozy and elegant atmosphere, perfect for a relaxed evening. Wine selection is very good and I really liked the decor of the place, especially products kept on the shelfs behind the glass. I think it is an interesting idea.
Professional and friendly stuff and management, left very good impression.
Whether you’re here for a quiet night or a gathering with friends, this place offers great drinks and excellent service. Highly recommend!
I recently visited this Italian restaurant, and I must say, the food was exceptional! Having been to Italy, I can confidently say it's rare to find Italian cuisine in Canada that rivals the authenticity and quality of what I had here. We were also lucky to have an amazing manager Artem who helped us choose a fantastic wine to pair with our meal — it was delicious! 😍 The atmosphere was welcoming and very nice. Definitely a place I’ll return to for an authentic Italian experience!
