Damascus Fine Mediterranean Foods

Very poor service, we came and they said it’s a 40 minute wait so we said we will order then when a table becomes empty we will come inside. They said okay, when a table emptied 10 minutes later he said no sorry we can not eat inside. Never experience such poor service and rude behaviour 0/10. Also, the table inside became our food was even ready and we waited 30 minutes for our food

Recently tried the shawarmas and they were very average. Not anything I would come back for. The meat lacks most flavor compared to some other places. The warp was dry with little sauce. The ratio of veggies was also sub par. We haven't had an opportunity to dine in for more meals but if the basics are not exceptional I don't go further.

I have been coming to Damascus since they first opened. I live nearby and up until recently i have had only glowing praise. I cannot give that praise anymore. They’ve squandered all the goodwill.

My last three experiences have shown that they have grown too quickly and are not able to keep up.

Just now I got a donair poutine for takeout. It used to come with veggies, now you pay extra. No biggie, I paid for them. Except when I got it home and opened it, there were no veggies in the box.

The time before that I got a wrap and a tabouli. Except when I dug into the salad, it tasted AWFUL. Not like every other time before (too numerous to count). They put something else other than the dressing on it. I’m not sure what it was but it made it inedible. It was so bad I threw it out before I got half way through.

The time before that I was at a friend’s place and we ordered delivery. A couple of us got platters and one of us got a chicken shawarma wrap. Most of us got our correct orders. Except instead of getting a schwarma wrap my friend received a plain box of dry chicken.

The time before that same friend ordered delivery they forgot his order entirely!

My advice is ***do not order online***. Go there and watch them make your food to make sure it’s done correctly and if it’s made in the back open it up when they hand it to you to make sure it is correct. You probably should taste the salad before you leave to make sure it tastes ok. It’s very sad that this is what has to happen, but they cannot get an order right despite the food being excellent when it is made correctly. It’s not like these things are minor either they manage to do things that completely ruin the experience.

I hope they notice this review and start taking their food seriously again.

This is the downhill service we have ever experienced, if you wanna order you're not treated well; I don't recommend a stay, and from the reviews, it seems that they pay for good reviews and delete the bad ones.

Not sure why the owner is not aware of what's going on with the restaurant service??

Not recommended for dine in. Very bad service especially from the pony tail guy. Extremely rude and came across as unprofessional with zero service. If you want to use the name Damascus in your business. Please treat like the people of Damascus treat. They are very welcoming to everyone. We did not feel welcomed and would never set foot again.

Probably one of the best value places you can find on 17th (especially if you're a student). Their student special in particular is consistently delicious!
