Everything was excellent. Food was great. We had a larger space upstairs to accommodate the size of our group. It was perfect. The space was decorated for the holidays, server was generally attentive. Nice view out the windows. Unfortunate issue with the wood burning. Our clothes and hair smelled strongly of smoke upon leaving. Things happen. Only opportunity for improvement was in getting the bill quickly. I mentioned having time constraints and advised time I needed to leave. I was a bit late getting out.

We were there for brunch. Ordered 3 eggs bennys, 1 croque monsieur, and sides for the kids(bacon and potato rosti). We were surprised at the food temperature wghich came out slightly warmer than room temperature. The potato rosti were cool.

Did not like the holiday afternoon tea. Savory was pretty tasteless. Sweets all looked liked Xmas cookies made by kids. Artificial colors are not appealing. Too much sugar. Snow globe cookie is the worst. Tea was getting cold, I would suggest to have a warmer at each table to keep the hot water. Overall this is not worth $65. We did not enjoy the experience.

Overall, okay. Did not enjoy the beet appetizers. We were celebrating a birthday and so the restaurant put a happy birthday banner on a dessert we paid for. Restaurant might have supplied a small dessert at no charge.

When I told our very nice server that my farmed sea bass (who knew there was such a thing) was mushy rather than sea bass firm and rather tasteless, without our suggesting, she took the cost of the dish off the bill. A lovely gesture! We payed for it anyway as everything had been so good!
