We group of four people were there for dinner. We orderd lamb vindaloo, daal makhni, coconut lassi and naans. First of all, the place was full only one server was their, she was doing her best but we had to wait for everything since the place was full. We waited around 20-25 for food, had to look for the server if we needed anything she was soo busy. Food was delicious, naans were soft and fresh no chewy. Coconut lassi was good a little too thick for my pallet so we added some water and ice in it. We also tried their two pillar chai beer which they brew that was good as well.

We were visiting Calgary and made Deepaks Dhaba our first day lunch spot. And we were super happy. Amazing and authentic food here. The paneer tikka was superb soft and big paneer pieces and the palak panner too.

We visited this place for my dad’s birthday, but unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. The food wasn’t warm — only the plate was — and our roti came when we had already finished eating but the waitress there was kind enough to not charge us for the roti. The cup was dirty, and we could barely hear our waitress. The overall vibe of the restaurant was just meh, and the food didn’t impress any of us, it was anything out of the ordinary and some of the items on the menu wasnt available. My dad didn’t seem to enjoy himself, and sadly, neither did the rest of the family.

I rarely leave reviews, but unfortunately, our experience here was deeply disappointing. We came in for lunch and ordered bhatura bread, only to be told after nearly 30 minutes of waiting that it wouldn’t be coming. Strangely, a couple seated after us received their bhatura without issue, that was frustrating and confusing.
Service was painfully slow throughout. Our appetizer took forever to arrive and wasn’t hot, and the main dishes came out after an even longer wait. Sadly, the quality of the food didn’t make up for the delay. The dal makhani was bland and oddly sweet, not what we expected at all. The palak paneer had an unusual texture and didn’t taste quite right either. Even the garlic naan was a letdown; burnt, flaky, and tough rather than soft and flavorful.
We didn’t say anything at the time because we didn’t want to cause a scene, but we left feeling extremely disappointed. We were really looking forward to a great Indian lunch, but this missed the mark in every way. Hope things improve for future diners.
Good food but the service was very slow and parts of our order were wrong

We are visiting Calgary for a short vacation and we’re pining for a good Indian food and Deepak Dhaba did not disappoint us ! Delicious food with excellent service …. Chicken Tikka masala, chicken curry and Paneer butter masala with soft garlic naan we had ordered ! All curries were full of flavors and all food was consumed as it was so well made. The restaurant is small but big in satisfying their guests with delicious food 🙏🏼💝💯

Best naan that I've had in the city. It's very clear everything is made from scratch due to the long wait, but also the lovely medley of flavors found in the dishes. This is the only Indian restaurant I've had a curry where the meat wasn't dried out, the chicken still held its juices.

Very slow service and no satisfactory food.
Desert not fresh as well.We visited from Edmonton and very disappointed
Recently visited Deepak’s Dhaba in Calgary, and while there were some highlights, my overall experience left me with mixed feelings, landing it a solid 3-star rating.
The food had moments of brilliance—authentic flavors that hint at Chef Deepak’s passion for Indian cuisine. I tried the butter chicken and garlic naan, both of which were tasty and well-spiced, with the naan being nicely charred from the tandoor.
However, the portion sizes felt a bit small for the price. Atmosphere is cozy but cramped at their Centre Street location. Seating is limited, which makes it less ideal for a sit-down meal unless you’re grabbing takeout.
The service was friendly, and the staff were accommodating, but it seemed like they were stretched thin during my visit, leading to some delays in getting our order.
Overall, Deepak’s Dhaba has potential with its fresh, house-ground spices and traditional dishes, but the small portions and tight space left me wanting more.

A Hidden Gem of Authentic Indian Flavour!
Just visited Deepak’s Dhaba and I can’t stop thinking about the food! The koftas were melt-in-your-mouth perfection — rich, flavourful, and clearly made with love. The spices hit all the right notes without being overpowering.
The place has a simple, no-frills vibe that makes it feel even more authentic, like a true roadside dhaba you’d find in India. Friendly staff, quick service, and generous portions make it even better.
If you’re craving soul-satisfying Indian comfort food, Deepak’s Dhaba is the spot. Can’t wait to go back and try more from the menu!
Bonus: My friends came over for a stay from Sioux Lookout and were craving good Indian food — Deepak’s Dhaba hit the spot. They loved every bite!
