Dixon's Public House

Bf and I arrived at 9:15 on a Monday evening. We ordered colossal nachos with xtra cheese, beef, plus guac, & 1 order of wings.
Colossal Nachos and wings arrived. Nachos had a sprinkle of cheese on top. Not even kidding about a sprinkle. I was shocked and asked if that was normal. Our server said “that does not look like xtra cheese”and then said she would check with the kitchen because she was new. She then had a young blond man about mid 20’s arrive 2 tables away from us while pointing and looking at us and then away. Awkward 🤷‍♀️
Wings were decent.
They had the nachos “redone” which was placing a SMALL, and I mean SMALL, sprinkle of cheese on top, then putting the “nachos” in the microwave which is a sanctuary for places to die. I wish they had cared enough to “layer”.
We could have microwaved nachos at home I guess. The “redone” nachos still weren’t even 50% melted.
Please please please teach your staff to read their bills! If they can’t read then maybe this isn’t the job for them? Or maybe a phonics teacher is in store? 🤷‍♀️
When people pay as much as we do nowadays. I simply want to receive what I order. Xtra cheese is super simple. If I wanted “easy cheese”, that would be different. But come on 🤦‍♀️

It's not far from my house and I was thinking about going there. I read in the reviews that the food there is delicious. But....from the outside everything looks very dusty and shabby. The windows and facades have not been washed for probably 100 years! This is very sad.

Been a while since I have visited Dixon's. The dill pickle wings were great and the Guinness was very tasty. The server, Megan, was very friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back.

Dixons, what is up with your menu??? I love your food but I just went for dinner with four people, and two of us couldn’t eat our meals because there’s stuff in our food that wasn’t on the menu…. That’s messed up! If you go through the trouble to tell people what is in your dishes, maybe list all the ingredients not just the ones you think are most relevant. Seriously, why would you leave ingredients off of the menu?? I’m not talking about a spice or a flavor, I mean my Mac n cheese was so loaded with so many onions I couldn’t pick them out. Disgusting, and I’m probably gonna be sick as f now. If you’d listed that as an ingredient in the dish on the menu I’d have ordered something else. Not super impressed.

Was provided wonderful service last night at my work Christmas party. Raz was our server and she was very friendly. She went above and beyond in providing an enjoyable and fun customer experience. She gets a 5/5 in my books! The other servers were also fantastic!

Monday wing night is always great part of the kilkenny limerick chain, that I been going to for years.

Went for their wing night and was disappointed in the flavour of the wings, the honey garlic sauce tasted extremely watered down, but the dill pickle was good! Their truffle fries aren’t anything special but not the worst I’ve had and my ginger ale tasted like club soda so that was gross. The service was okay, the only time I spoke to a waitress other than ordering was to get my bill which I struggled to get their attention. Anywho, probably won’t be back.

My coworkers and I, are weekly post work visitors to Dixons public house. We have always enjoyed the service and the food is not bad for pub food. Brie has truly made our visits enjoyable, with her incredible service and bubbly personality!! But over our last two visits the service has been horrible. As I am writing this, our server is sitting at the bar and eating with a group of her friends. She was rude and showed blatant disregard for regular customers. Every server that we have had besides Brie, have been rude and acted as if paying customers were burdens to their nights. My coworkers and I will have to rethink coming to Dixons ever again.

Dietary restrictions: The owner is also celiac, so gluten cross contamination does not happen in their kitchen
