Food was not bad, season to taste, Noticed they offered chinese deserts to chinese customer but denied them to non chinese customers. $21 average per plate. They didn't realize that i understand Mandarin .
Update***
We realized the pekking duck served to us was a possibly expired duck, while our neighbors table who were chinese were served not expired duck,
Evidence based on color and bloating after the meal. Non chinese beware of this place
Eastern Fortune Restaurant offers a truly delicious culinary experience that is well worth the visit, despite a couple of minor drawbacks. The food itself is the star of the show, with every dish we tried being bursting with flavor and expertly prepared. From appetizers to main courses, the quality and taste were consistently impressive.
However, be prepared for a bustling atmosphere. Eastern Fortune is clearly a popular spot, and it can get quite busy, especially during peak hours. This can lead to a bit of a lively (and sometimes loud) dining experience. Additionally, finding parking in the vicinity can be a challenge. It's a good idea to factor in a little extra time to search for a spot, or consider alternative transportation if possible.
In conclusion, if you're looking for fantastic food and don't mind a lively environment or a bit of a hunt for parking, Eastern Fortune Restaurant is an excellent choice. The delicious dishes more than make up for any minor inconveniences.
Absolutely the best. I had the Shrimp fried rice with chicken, pork and mushrooms
Parking was a little bit tricky. But great service and perfect taste!!!!
Great place, great food friendly staff open late. Few dollars more than other Asian restaurants but food is good huge menu to choose from
everyone is nice, if you missing some Hong Kong food, I can tell you this is the right place.
Peking Duck is so yummy, always so fast with my orders for take out
dylan is the bestđ i was so hungry and starving and he saved my life with the big food portion 10/10
Not the cheapest but food is good
Went after 9pm so it's not too busy
Good portion and good quality

Just wanna say this restaurant is the worse restaurant here in Calgary when it comes to treating their customers rightâŠ.instead of welcoming us or offering us a good table.. the server or owner wanted us to sit a table across the front door where cold wind gets in whenever it opens..:when we asked if we could sit somewhere warmer, the man or I think heâs an owner already gave us an attitude telling us itâs because it sits 10âŠthere were other tables that sits 10 or moreâŠ2nd, when we got sitted, instead of giving us the menus the lady asked if we are using forks or chopsticksâŠshe asked one person not all..when my friend said he will use fork, she just started taking all the chopsticksâŠ.then she started taking all the bowlsâŠwhen one of my friends asked why is she doing that, the server replied âbecause we are all using forksâŠâ there was a misunderstanding (maybe language barrier) but instead of the owner asking us what was wrong he just said â is there a problemâ in a rude wayâŠWe told him thereâs no problem but we said the server was rude as one of the person in our group said âwhy is she looking at me like that? She looked at her (a friends mom) a mean lookâŠanyways the whole situation got escalated to the point where the owner insisted of apologizing just said itâs because we didnât book a reservationâŠand said that if we have a problem we can just leaveâŠso we all left and just went to a different restaurant where they treated us like customersâŠbut yeh, I would never recommend this restaurant. Very disappointed.
I never experienced a restaurant thatâs very rude. They canât accomodate walk in customers witj kindness. Were not settled in yet weâve been interrogated between chopsticks vs fork, bowl vs. plate. I never experienced this in a chinese restaurant that was very rude and unsettling. Iâm a visitor from different province, yet this was suprising.
I stopped by Eastern Fortune in Calgary recently. The restaurant felt like a classic/typical Cantonese restaurant. For food, I tried several of their items:
- Peking Duck: 7/10: Pretty good flavour but authentic peking duck pieces shouldnât be like that (with so much meat)
- Salted Fish & Eggplant: 9/10: Quite authentic given the salted fish used (a lot of places opt for lesser or alternatives as salted fish give a stronger flavour than others, i.e. salted cod)
- Salted Egg & Tofu: 8.3/10: Good flavour and cookedness, albeit some pieces were really dry
- Strawberry Ribs. 8.5/10: Interesting dish worth trying as itâs similar to sweet and sour pork but with strawberry/jam instead and seen in HK.
Everything is the best in this place
Always so fast with my orders for take out and extremely friendly. Food is always amazing when dining in and everyone is extremely friendly. Legit cuisine!! Youâll know when you arrive!! Thank you
