Delightful atmosphere, both indoors and out. Great food and beautiful presentation! We went here for dinner and ate outdoors. This restaurant has a great vibe. We ordered the hummus and tzatziki and it was almost too pretty to eat! The hummus was creamy and the tzatziki was equally as good. The pita bread was spicy enough and plentiful. We also had the guacamole and it was delicious. There were two of us but four people could easily share both appies. I also ordered the sushi cone, just one, and I can't wait to go back to have it again. The service was a little slow but it was a busy night and the food made up for the wait. The only negative, was everyone swatting the wasps swarming around their food. Perhaps the Eau Clair location can find a solution to keep the wasps away!

I stopped by for some drinks in the evening. Kaelyn was very attentive and did a great job of making sure my glass was kept full, and I noticed this was the case for all the tables around me. Again, great job.

We had such a good experience here that we ate here twice on our little trip to Calgary! The food is absolutely fantastic, the vibes are chic and cozy, staff are friendly, and prices are decent, especially during happy hour. The first visit, we just had dessert but it was so good we ate an early dinner there the next day during their happy hour. Happy hour runs from 2-5pm daily and the menu has a surprising variety of items with awesome prices. My hubby got the sushi cone appetizer that was tiny and just meh - truly the only thing we didn't care for much. He also got the California Chicken Club - a large sandwich, cooked lovely and nice bacon on top and a generous portion of fries - he loved it. I'd heard a lot of fan fare about Alberta beef so I just had to try it - I got the Steak Frites and chose the 6oz Alberta beef sirloin and it was phenomenal!! I got it medium and they cooked it perfectly. That Alberta beef deserves every bit of praise it gets! For our dessert visit, we got the Molten Chocolate Cake and the Italian Donuts and both were so delicious. The chocolate cake is a lava cake and it's extremely rich but so good. The donuts were our fave - light and fluffy and the cream inside was fantastic. The vibe here is very hip and chic and so nicely decorated- it's upscale but also very cozy. We definitely felt a little underdressed but everyone was so nice so I don't think it mattered. The staff were wonderful - friendly, attentive and even spent some time chatting with us. It's located in the lovely Eau Claire area in downtown Calgary - very walkable and right across the street from the Sheraton hotel. Apparently they have Joey restaurants here in LA too so we'll have to check it out! We'll definitely be back when we visit again - highly recommend!

Single mom visiting Calgary with my adult kids for the weekend. Suffering some major depression. Didn’t want to be here. Hadn’t eaten all day. Ordered food from Joeys across the street to walk over and pick up to eat back at my hotel room for myself (kids were doing their thing). Got there, decided to have 2 margaritas while I waited for my order. The bartender inquired about my mood and I said not good. He must have told the other bartender who brought my 2nd drink. Jared(?) asked me how I was so I told him honestly was not good. He said he wanted to hear it so I told him it was hard not having my mom who had passed to talk to about the dark stuff cuz I didn’t want to burden my kids. He was incredibly sweet and offered some insights. My order was ready, he went to get it. I got my card out and he said not to worry about it. My tears started flowing. He got a bit teary. Then Manager Erica came over and said how much she loved her mom and no one should eat alone. I cried more. She got teary. Before getting there I was in an extremely dark place. I honestly didn’t want to live and was thinking about ways to leave this world (they did not know this detail). Their unconditional love and kind gesture made the difference for me. Their thoughtfulness managed to pull me from my numbness and I am so grateful. They will never know the incredible good they did with that act of kindness ❤️. Oh yeah…best gyoza and Mediterranean bowl I’ve ever eaten ?

We went at 9pm to take advantage of Happy Hour. The food was delicious and the staff are so friendly. Can highly recommend the szechuan chicken lettuce wraps! Great atmosphere. Two main courses and two beers for just under CAD40.

Great Family Meal - great choice of food. Good service an excellent food. We had tasty wings and also a hummus starter. Chicken burger and various salads were super. Gods selection of beers

Service was SLOW and sloppy - slow to take our drinks and app order, slow to take our entree order, slow to bring utensils (twice), slow to bring the bill, slow to collect payment. Outdoor tables and seats were dirty and staff was dismissive when we asked that that be corrected - and we were at one of the comparatively cleaner tables.

We ended up here after a poor experience and not staying at River Cafe. What a fantastic choice, Sam our waitress was amazing, accommodating 12 with great service and friendly atmosphere. The food was amazing, I had the. Tuna salad and the corn guacamole for an appetizer. You will not be disappointed.!! Thank you Alex (manager) checking in on us.
The night we went was very busy but we were accommodated at the bar area. Good choice of local IPA’s. Service was friendly and pretty quick. We had some really good sushi and my friend had a tasty looking steak. Ironically a client took us back to Joeys again the next day for lunch and table service was even better, food just as good. Will return when next in town.

Outstanding Responsive service. I had a dish I didn’t like, and the waiter didn’t question it. He just asked what I wanted instead. Two other managers came over to apologize. One brought over a different version of what I didn’t like to go to see if I liked the alternate. I did. I returned for three of four nights in Calgary—a special shoutout to Tatum for her caring behaviour.

The young ladies that waited on me at Joeys were so attentive to warm the heart of an old man. Pia is exceptional and has served me a number of times. Had a chat with Alexis about wine especially a French Sauvignon Blanc. She phoned a local wine shop that I had mentioned to find me a bottle. Last one they had in stock.
