This review is very long overdue considering my partner and I have been getting these delicious subs for over a decade now.

We first started buying these subs at their location in Pacific Place Mall and instantly became addicted. The bread is the perfect mix of soft and crunchy, the ingredients are fresh and vibrant and the sauce is to die for. The bubble tea is also the best I've ever had, by far.

My partner and I moved away from Calgary many years ago but we still make a point of getting food here every single time we visit. On our last trip, we walked to the downtown location every day and bought multiple subs each just to get our fix (we even stocked up at the Pacific Place location right before our flight). We were so happy to see the owners there everyday as they are the nicest people with the brightest smiles. So much love for this shop!

I can’t speak for the rest of the menu, but I tried the Vietnamese sub — specifically the classic OG “assorted” — and honestly, it fell short of expectations. At $15, it’s already pricier than most spots downtown, so I was hoping for a wow factor. Instead, it was just… meh.

I chose the assorted sub to see how authentic it was, but it missed a few key marks. No pâté (that’s a big miss), and instead of a full mix of meats, it only had a few layers of Vietnamese sausage.

On the plus side, the Vietnamese mayo and the crispness of the baguette were definite highlights. But overall, for the price, it didn’t quite live up to the hype or the glowing reviews.

Service was excellent and the lady that serves us with super friendly!

The last few times I was in Calgary, they were closed. So im happy i finally got to try them!
So fresh, and very tasty

I forgot to take a picture because I dove right in! I got the beef pho and the broth is absolutely delicious! It’s a cute little shop with an easy to navigate menu, and I love that they have staple options to choose from! Reduces the whole “what should I get” decision paralysis I normally have.

The broth is fantastic, the couple that runs the shop are super sweet, and service is quick and neat! Highly recommend popping in.

Absolutely amazing I was out and about all day walking and needed a water bumped into this little shop very close to home and decided to grab a water and a bite, I noticed immediately the completely open and transparent kitchen the lovely atmosphere the music the smells and the bright ambiance. The sweet lady and gentlemen were incredibly attentive and the gentlemen was such a pleasure to speak with almost like a friendly family figure anyone comes to love I asked and had questions answered and even learned a little about his life his business and his philosophy and man this gentleman needs a book or documentary or podcast because he is incredible and smart. I asked about his menu and he said "when you have a few items they can be perfected and when done many times over they only grow better not like restraunts that have 100 items they become cluttered and wastefull"

And I asked about his very very yellow sauce on the sub I ate as it was delicious and he let me know for all of their dishes they use only the best ingredients and he also made the very bright mayonnaise by hand and with farm fresh deep yellow eggs.

I mentioned how I loved the entire music and atmosphere and vibe that was generally about and he said "everyone eats with all 5 senses, 1 their eyes, 2 their nose, 3 their mouth, 4 their ears
And 5th the atmosphere in which they eat"
That made me very happy and when I asked him if his food is authentic he immediately let me know it's authentic to him and that Vietnamese subs actually come from French colonists visiting Vietnam and things like the term sate also derive from it.

I asked swell about him and his wife and their business he told me 20 or so years ago that they opened a store in North calgary and that they had so many customers asking about another store in downtown so they opened one on 5th Ave and again more asked about another location so they opened at 6 Ave this location being reviewed and although the prices are slightly higher and they are open 5 hours 5 days a week I Absolutely recommend this business and especially meeting the owner as he's such a nice soul to interact with. And the food tastes of love and warmth.

We will be back and hopefully leaving more amazing reviews!

This is the cutest mom and pop shop on the block. I absolutely love their beef subs. Their spring rolls are crunchy! Their soup is so filling and always warms me up on a cold day! Perfectly located if you are at the courthouse.

An amazing couple runs this place. Their food is delicious, great portions and great prices. My husband is a regular because he works nearby and they treat him wonderfully. I would highly recommend!!
