For Goodness Bake

For Goodness Bake is one of my absolute favourite local businesses and is owned/run by two of the loveliest people you’ll ever meet. Chatting with Sam and Josh always feels like chatting with old friends - plus I don’t even have to ask if they have the Kashew Bakery Lemon Tart or Canela Chunk Cake in stock because as soon as I walk through the door, they know that’s what I’m there for. If you’re looking for savoury items, their quiche and Veghammer Mheats are a great choice! They also have a lot of gluten free items available. I’m so grateful that this place exists 💚🌱

The lady that owned appeared to be cold, wrapped in a throw blanket behind the counter, so I bought a chocolate chip 🍪, very heavy on the butter, my hands were covered in the grease from the cookie,it didn't appear to be fresh, it was hard, and gave me a bad stomach for a few days, I thought $6.35 was expensive for a cookie, after attempting to eat the cookie, I thought I should ask for the money back for a bottle of PEPTO BISMAL! Save yourself the disappointment and waste of money, go to Safeway and buy CHIPS AHOY!

I very rarely write a review but I felt it was needed. We are so surprised at the 4* reviews as that is what got us to drive 20 minutes to try out this place. The instant we walked in there was no friendly welcome. It seemed like a massive effort to explain which items were GF. She did eventually warm up a bit, but first impression was everything. Both me and my friend felt this.
My hot chocolate was so so sweet I couldn't even drink it. The carrot cake that we were both excited about was almost solid except the creamy filling. It was dry and tasteless. So disappointing, wouldn't return.

I also purchased a gluten free curry pie from the freezer. I just ate that for lunch again very disappointing and it's was $15!!

Love love love this place! The people are super friendly, but best of all is the baking! My husband is lactose intolerant, but loves cookies and brownies. We've tried other places, but keep coming back here. Even the kids love the cookies. Delicious!!

Josh is an absolute delight and was super knowledgeable when a friend and I came by to browse! Everything this is vegan and there’s lots of gluten-friendly options as well.

I’m not intolerant/allergic to anything so I wasn’t sure how things would taste for me, but the chocolate ganache cupcake and the huge single-packed cookies were absolutely delicious. Highly recommend!
