We were sat at 6:30 this evening in the lounge side. No one else in site. So that was odd but fine. It took nearly 15 mins to get water and pop. We waited 45 mins for our appetizers. Unfortunately they were out of escargot. Calamari was good and warm. The pulled pork was warm and really tasty. Salad as an appy was tasty as well(cold of course as expected). Then we also had the cheese bread. Of which came out COLD and hard. The butter was still cold between it. Had a small piece but it was horrible We then waited another 48 mins for our main course. Two of the meals were 7oz tenderloin with beets/carrots and mashed potatoes. One with peppercorn. The steaks were cooked right to medium rare correctly. But..... the peppercorn was NOT a peppercorn sauce it tasted like Campbells mushroom soup with two peppercorns thrown in it. Horrible. The other 7oz was absolutely BLAND. Zero flavor. I ordered the family and friends cut of prime rib. With beets and carrots with mashed potatoes. Potatoes were lumpy. The prime rib was completely tasteless. Just a bit of flavor on the top skin but zero again throughout. The carrots from every plate were so undercooked you would have thought it was a rock! No flavor. At all again. The mushrooms we ordered to come with out meal showed up as we were leaving. Server was fine. She didn't know what to say. The manager came over apologized and gave us 50% off. Was not looking for a discount we wanted an amazing dinner. This was a horrible experience. I would have expected more with the smugglers name. You should rebrand and not call it smugglers. Not even close to the quality. Do not waste your money or time going to this restaurant. You will leave unhappy. Go to Dennys the steak has flavor. On a side note if you have a “high end” steak house maybe done give your patrons the cheapest and fullest steak knives as well! Good luck on your business!!!

Took an hour for our prime rib entree and burger to be served from the time we ordered, despite the restaurant not being at full capacity. The mashed potatoes are instant potatoes, and the Yorkshire pudding was stale. Horrible service overall. Gone downhill after new ownership.

My boyfriend and I were really excited for this, so we booked for his birthday. Both the primarily and brisket was disappointing. Brisket was overcooked. Their "steak soup" tasted heavily of gravy mix and was way too salty. Our bill with 2 drinks and buffet for 2 was 175. I'm extremely disappointed in the food quality and overall experience.

Said 15 years ago i would not come back because the food was disgusting... tried again yesterday because i thought a buffet might be different... i was wrong !!! Mostly cold food, carrots not cooked enough, mashed potatoes not real, salad not bad but no one cooked that... watered down blue cheese salad dressing, brisket tough and dry... roast beef not bad but cut thin one piece at a time, if you want more you must go back 4 times to get enough to call it dinner ... plus no deserts at all ... all this for 108. Dollars for 2 we will never try again !!!

Thankfully the steaks we ordered were mostly good, and the team member was pleasant, because everything else was lacking, ‘meh' and tired! From the outdoor entrance not being lit or welcoming, to the lacking salad bar (we looked at and chose not to order), and the weirdly unusually large baked potatoes, and the unappetizing 'look' of the meals, and flat Coca Cola....it was an overall disappointing experience. It's a shame. I have looked at some past photos shared on social media of the meals, salad bar etc and it's certainly not like that now.

Food was great as usual , service wasnt as prompt as it usually is . I did have my mom with me who is in a wheel chair and although its great they have a separate bathroom with a ramp to it, the lock did not work on it and also the ramp to get in is very challenging and somewhat dangerous . My suggestion would be to have a more accommodating way for disabled folks to get in .

Beef tenderloin was perfect and my friends prime rib was also excellent. The twice baked potatoes were really dry and overcooked and the seasonal vegetables (carrots and 2 tiny slices of beets) were way undercooked and bordering on raw carrots.

I have gone to Smugglers many times in the past and all experiences were great, that's why I went back to try the new Sunday Buffet Dinner.. I must say I am horribly disappointed, and I was embarrassed to have taken my guest there. It took 20 mins after sitting down to even be acknowledged by the server, then came by to tell us she would be right back to take drink orders. Came back 5 mins later with water, and said would be back later to get drink orders (it wasn't busy at all) In the meantime went over to the buffet. Was extremely disappointing. Salad bar was out of half of the options, and placed on a stand where staff were doing dishes. Main course options were mostly empty, and what was left looks like it had been sitting there all day. Stir Fry station was a joke. Prime Rib was served in place of no Brisket (this is what we went for) yorkies, empty! While I was gone the waitress removed my fork and took 5 mins to hunt one down from the staff again. Drinks (bottled beer) finally showed up half way through eating the main course. Over $100 for a horrible buffet for 2. There are so many places I could have spent this money at and got a much better meal. Extremely disappointed, wish I had just went to Wendy's down the street and still had $75 in my pocket after. I am not one to normally write reviews, but even the next day I still have a sour taste in my mouth and feel extremely ripped off for what we received. I hope improvements are made.

Don't post on Google maps if you are a store in Callaway Park. It's rude to direct people to you when you are not open half the year.

I have gone to Smugglers for years with my family and friends. I have been reading lately that people have not had their usual great experience but I wanted to give it a chance since normally we have a fantastic time. Obviously prices have gone up as everything with inflation has lately however that being said I was still disappointed with the amount I was paying for dinner did not equal quality. 1) the salad bar: this used to be included with the prime rib dinners. It is no longer included and now is a seperate cost. The salad bar used to be amazing. Lots of variety and quality ingredients. This time it was less than half of what it used to be and on top of it half the bowls were mislabeled and empty. There were no bread rolls but there was butter which was strange. The plates and bowls had completely ran out and the staff seemed inconvenienced when I asked for bowls and plates for the salad bar. 2) the dinner- my guest was not provided a fork or steak knife for their prime rib. All the had was a spoon and butter knife. By the time we had flagged our wait staff down, the food was cold. The prime rib is normally absolutely tender, mouth watering and flavorful but this time it was very bland and tough. 3) service- our waters were not refilled once nor were we asked about new drinks, the wait staff assigned to us seemed nervous and anxious. 4) we were celebrating a anniversary and despite specifically telling the restaurant during reservation, nothing was mentioned. 5) I found it a bit sexist that despite the fact I was paying and taking the bill (i was wearing a dress). My masc presenting guest kept being focused on with regards to the bill and ordering etc. 6) we were overcharged for drinks we didn't consume or have arrive. Overall this was the worst experience ive had here in over 20+ years. I was very disappointed as we were extremely excited and looking forward to a great dinner experience.

The food was great , specially the prime rib but there is a huge lack on the service. When we got there it didn't seem to be that busy but there were no glass for juice at the bar my wife ask 3 servers at the bar for plan white sugar and they just seemed to ignore(pretending to be busy). At my table I had no forks so I had walk around the hole place until I found a server and ask for one. By this time our food was cold so we had to go and get everything again. Nice place but no very well organized. Don't think I will go back.

Social media showed this being amazing. Huge line ups, not enough food. Has to serve out own coffee and tea. And hard to get the bill to pay. Would go back, defiantly not there brunch buffet.

Christine

It was buffet. Food tastes really good. Service? Questionable. I saw my server only twice and even paying bill she didn't come and asked other server and when I asked bill, right away she said I'm not your server... well tip is not just giving it to them it's about what kind service I got so I love to go for food but not for service for sure.

Lisa

Great service from Kerry. Kids loved it, adults loved it. The weekend brunch was just simply amazing! It's starting to become a regular visit for my family as we celebrate events here.

Al

Smelled like cigarettes and ALL buffet food was cold. Horrible value for $40/person. Will not be back.
