I have gone to Smugglers for years with my family and friends. I have been reading lately that people have not had their usual great experience but I wanted to give it a chance since normally we have a fantastic time. Obviously prices have gone up as everything with inflation has lately however that being said I was still disappointed with the amount I was paying for dinner did not equal quality. 1) the salad bar: this used to be included with the prime rib dinners. It is no longer included and now is a seperate cost. The salad bar used to be amazing. Lots of variety and quality ingredients. This time it was less than half of what it used to be and on top of it half the bowls were mislabeled and empty. There were no bread rolls but there was butter which was strange. The plates and bowls had completely ran out and the staff seemed inconvenienced when I asked for bowls and plates for the salad bar. 2) the dinner- my guest was not provided a fork or steak knife for their prime rib. All the had was a spoon and butter knife. By the time we had flagged our wait staff down, the food was cold. The prime rib is normally absolutely tender, mouth watering and flavorful but this time it was very bland and tough. 3) service- our waters were not refilled once nor were we asked about new drinks, the wait staff assigned to us seemed nervous and anxious. 4) we were celebrating a anniversary and despite specifically telling the restaurant during reservation, nothing was mentioned. 5) I found it a bit sexist that despite the fact I was paying and taking the bill (i was wearing a dress). My masc presenting guest kept being focused on with regards to the bill and ordering etc. 6) we were overcharged for drinks we didn't consume or have arrive. Overall this was the worst experience ive had here in over 20+ years. I was very disappointed as we were extremely excited and looking forward to a great dinner experience.

The food was great , specially the prime rib but there is a huge lack on the service. When we got there it didn't seem to be that busy but there were no glass for juice at the bar my wife ask 3 servers at the bar for plan white sugar and they just seemed to ignore(pretending to be busy). At my table I had no forks so I had walk around the hole place until I found a server and ask for one. By this time our food was cold so we had to go and get everything again. Nice place but no very well organized. Don't think I will go back.

Social media showed this being amazing. Huge line ups, not enough food. Has to serve out own coffee and tea. And hard to get the bill to pay. Would go back, defiantly not there brunch buffet.

It was buffet. Food tastes really good. Service? Questionable. I saw my server only twice and even paying bill she didn't come and asked other server and when I asked bill, right away she said I'm not your server... well tip is not just giving it to them it's about what kind service I got so I love to go for food but not for service for sure.

Great service from Kerry. Kids loved it, adults loved it. The weekend brunch was just simply amazing! It's starting to become a regular visit for my family as we celebrate events here.

Smelled like cigarettes and ALL buffet food was cold. Horrible value for $40/person. Will not be back.

First time at Smugglers. Great experience. The steaks were delicious and our server was very courteous.

Last night we experienced a dining adventure celebrating our anniversary! We had the best seat in the house in front of a roaring fireplace, seated in kingly chairs with service beyond exceptional. And then came the ribs. Oh those beef ribs! Prehistoric in size, meaty, delicious and charred to perfection with a smoky bourbon sauce! Each bite was a party on the palette although half of it came home with us for another 2 meals! Whether you're celebrating something special or just want an unforgettable meal by the fire, Smugglers Calgary delivers on every level! Thankyou Smugglers! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

When i made the reservation I specifically asked for a table, not a booth because of being on crutches. When we arrived, despite seeing 2 tables that were open, I was advised we were put in a booth. I can't tell you how awkward and uncomfortable this was. There was no where to put the crutches out of the way so I had to hold and maneuver them under the table. While there were lots of food options the only thing that made this a brunch was the prime rib and brisket, salad, and the selection of desserts Everything else was breakfast. There were no lunch options in the servers. Their brunches used to be fantastic. While it was good, its definitely not as amazing as it used to be.

Have been to smugglers many times for great food and service. Reservations for 7:00. Got our food at 9:00. I got salad bar; romaine lettuce the only item up there presentable to eat. The salad bar was a mess and all containers empty. The restaurant was packed and many people waiting soooo long for main course. Ordered meatballs which arrived cold. Some tables comped dessert others not so much. Suggestion: why did the manager not come around and at least explain there were issues? I even spoke with him but he was very nonchalant. So disappointed. Will I return?

The salad and soup bar is good. While we ordered our drinks and placed our orders, we did enjoy the salad/soup bar. Our drinks took quite a while to come out, which was surprising as it wasn't busy. While we were eating our salad bar, our food was served. I'll add that my wife and I are not slow eaters either. Our prime rib dinners sat while we finished up our salad. When we started eating our meals, the mashed potatoes were cold, and the prime rib was very chewy. Difficult to both cut with the steak knife and eat. My wife answered that her dinner was “ok” when the waitress asked how everything was-then looking at her mostly uneaten meal-she asked if there was anything wrong with the meal. She then told her that the beef was quite chewy and the potatoes were cold, and the waitress replied-“oh-I'm sorry-I'll pass that along to the chef”. There was no one that came to the table to discuss our meal further, and when the bill came there wasn't anything removed. The tip started at 18%. We felt very rushed, the dinner was awful, no one cared-and to make things worse-we ended up with one of those tilting/uneven tables that moved everytime we tried to cut the meat. Needless to say-will never be back

The famous steak soup was so salty I couldn't finish it. The Manhattan Chowder was as more of a tasteless bisque. I found the salad bar was fresh and very good.
