Thanks for having us in the restaurant. It was our first visit and we were there last weekend. It was our lunch and we arrived before our friends.
We had to wait maybe more than 10-15 minutes at the entrance for the table. Is it a popular chinese restaurant? Thankfully there are enough seats inside for waiting because it was one of the cold days.
I saw that the restaurant had many products made by themselves, some dim sums asks dishes in packages.
We ordered some things my friends and I interested to try. Tricky thing to HOW can you get the Siu Loong bao (the dumplings with the soup inside) without its skin being broken… because it sticks to each other/on the paper… then after 4 of them we saw all their soup went down to the table cloth instead of having the soup on our tastebuds … maybe next time they save one by one or make sure they can be lifted up without sticking to each other or on that serving paper.
It was still during the chinese new year so we saw many fai chun or blessings on the red papers and the double blessings with the dragon and phoenix.

Not sure what happened to this place. I remember it wasn't this bad last time I went. Every dish we ordered was not good. The sweet and sour pork came in little pieces like popcorn chicken size. Can't taste the meat and even if I could its rubbery and dry. Eek! Half chicken was dry. The 牛筋腩煲 also came in cube size and no tendon at all. Very disappointing.

Overall it wasn't a good meal and likely will not be back. Oh also the desert soup that they provided at the end of the dinner was tasteless LOL. It's not even sweet I mean it was watery and tastless, just gross.

Knocked it out of the park with their 4 course peking duck service. So good we made it a "double double" that two complete 4 course peking ducks. Children liked the hot sauce too -- nice an spicy. Dumplings were great too. Ginger beef dish was not as good as in the past - perhaps busy in the kitchen

Parking: Big lot, easy safe parking. Plus large waiting area inside with seats.

Kid-friendliness: They have both booster chairs for kids say 3 to 5 years old and high chairs for under 3. Impressive service team -- stopped by multiple times to pick up dirty dishes, deliver food, check up on us, bring cold water, top up cold water, bring more tea, bring more hot water. Much stronger service than many other chinese restaurants and this tyoe of service makes you feel very special

Service is horrible especially by the lady at the front desk. She is rude, unprofessional and very condescending. She will glare at you when you ask for hot sauce or chopsticks. Food isn't bad but with the level of service offered, it makes the food not as good.

Ginger beef very bland as well as the veggie/shrimp. Food did arrive nice and hot as well as driver was efficient and pleasant. No plan to order from here again.

I recently visited Ginger Beef, one of my absolute favorite dim sum spots, and once again, it didn’t disappoint! The flavors are truly exceptional—each bite bursts with authentic, vibrant tastes that make every dish feel like a culinary adventure. Whether you’re a fan of traditional dim sum or love trying new twists, the variety here is perfect for everyone. The atmosphere adds so much to the experience too—it's cozy yet lively, making it the ideal place to enjoy great food with friends or family. If you haven’t been, it’s definitely worth a visit!

This is our favourite restaurant in Calgary. This has to be the best Chinese (Cantonese) food in Alberta. Dim sum on weekend and dinners are absolutely wonderful. Peking duck and fresh garlic fried crabs are two dishes we order every single visit. The restaurant is very clean and the staff are friendly. over the last 15 years (country hills location and this location) I had never had a dish that wasn't great.

Catered from this location for a Lunar New Year lunch at the office. They were efficient in taking the order and payment over the phone. We picked up our order; the food was ready on time in a cart to bring to the car.

For those looking for catering options, a large party tray is 8 orders and a small party tray is 4 orders. The large party tray is the 21x13x3 aluminum tray and the small is the 13x10x3 aluminum tray.

For 45 staff, we got 4 large party trays of ginger beef, sweet and sour pork, veggie fried rice and soy sauce chow mein, and 5 small party trays of ginger chicken, shredded beef with black pepper sauce, stir fry veggies, salt and pepper tofu and dumplings.

There was a lot of food leftover! Next time we would do a small tray of the sweet and sour pork and a large tray of the ginger chicken instead since the coating of the pork does not reheat well. We would also do 2 orders of the salt and pepper tofu and 6 orders of the dumplings (instead of the small party tray of 4 orders).

FYI: You will need to specify what needs to be vegetarian as they will add soy sauce automatically. Same with gluten free items, so they don't coat it with flour before deep frying. They can accommodate making a couple side portions of fried rice without soy sauce or eggs.

Came here for 100 day celebration family dinner, we were seated right in the front main room with a screen behind us and all of a sudden they were blasting karokee music in the background and the video playing. It was super loud quite annoying. Eventually they turned it off and took it away. Food was good but the peking duck wrappers were super thick and not well made, we have had our fair share of peking duck and not the usual wrapper we are use to. Staff seemed a little disorganized in the beginning but got better.

We regularly frequent this location for dim sum over the past year and overall its satisfying and yummy.

Food: order off a sheet (no push carts here), most items are decent, although sometimes there’s a bit of variability depending on who’s the chef that day. It’s fresh, quantity is decent, and tasty.

Service: the cashier/person in charge of the wait list can be friendlier, but most of the waitstaff are friendly and prompt. Sometimes when it’s really really busy, it’s obvious if they are overwhelmed, but overall no issues.l or complaints.

Atmosphere: white linen tablecloths, daily large seating area with lots of natural light. The fish tank keeps kids entertained. Decent wait area. We noticed they play light jazz which is neat.

Value: one of the main reasons we keep coming back is their $4.95 value menu, many of which are staple dim sum items. They don’t skimp on these dishes either. Amazing value here!

Overall, a solid choice that we appreciate!

Kid-friendliness: High chairs available. Generally kid friendly.

Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs, wheelchair designated spots in front.
