Food is really good

Excellent shanghai fried noodles, spicy ginger beef, yummy wonton soup. We had lots of fun, cheap, and the food was blessed

50 bucks for 2 with lunch next day (lunch will be blessed)

Got food poisoning from this place, never again. The order sizes are enough to feed a small army, but the quality is just not there. Ordered the $47.00 meal for two with Ginger Beef and Chicken and Black Bean sauce, and ended up getting quite sick. EVERYTHING tasted like it was cooked in rancid oil. The beef was tough, chewy and had no sauce in the container, and the chicken was slimy, under sauced and tasted “off.” Even the rice tasted rancid, like it had been cooked in old oil. Unfortunately I ended up quite ill from eating here, and almost lost a week of school during finals due to food poisoning. Only after 4 or 5 days did I begin to recover and have an appetite or ability to keep food down. One could argue that it wasn't the food, but I was fine until I ate the meal from Ginger Beef Express. Sad as this is a Calgary staple that I have ordered from for years, but I don’t foresee myself ordering from here any longer.

I heard so many great things about this place and really wanted to like it. But it was rather disappointing. The fried wontons were just literally wrappers, where you would expect an actual filling. Kind of felt like I was getting the bottom of the bag. The ginger beef was decent, kind of soggy, fried rice was bland, and the sweet and sour pork was probably the best thing I ordered in the 2 combo. Probably Won't be ordering from here again but If you want affordable Chinese this is the place to go

3.5 average. Honestly - it hits the spot. It's a great bang for your buck and as westernized of Chinese food it is mixed with fast food style, it was actually pretty good. You get a generous amount and it is reflected well with the price. Nothing was overly greasy/oily to the point you can't taste anything. It had good flavours. Now, if it's authentic or not, it is just westernized fast food Chinese food with a hint of authenticity. If that's what you're looking for, this is a good spot to go to. I would order from here again. The fried rice + sweet and sour pork was good.

We order specifically from this location. Out of all the locations around us this is by far the best. The ginger beef is crispy and spicy and the food is always topped to the max!

To start, their food is in my opinion some of the best in the city. We love many items on their menu! We ordered tonight, and had an issue with the size of one of the items on our order. We called and they sent us a new dish within 20 minutes of my call!!! They went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied and happy, which we are! We will definitely re order and recommend to our family and friends. Great, friendly and fast service! Thank you Ginger Beef Express (Center Street location)

On first impressions it looked good but looks can be deceiving.

The deep fried shrimp dumpling was undercooked. It was mushy on the inside.

The steamed shrimp dumpling's wrapper texture is pastey.

The steamed pork shaomai was ok.

The bbq porkbun was ok.

Ordered on Skip, was fast and hot. Ginger beef was good, beef ho fan was bland and boring, but edible, same goes for the salt and pepper tofu. The mapo tofu was okay, same with the cream buns. In future will probably go for the ‘basics’ and get lemon chicken and sweet and sour something instead
