The dumplings are soooo good. Honestly, some of the best Chinese food I’ve had in years.
This place used to be a hidden gem they had the best quality food sorry to say but new owners have some work to do the chow mien was not what i expected and the plate was poorly portioned.. sad to see old owners go ...
Ginger garden recently changed their owners, so I’m not surprised. Consistently going there, it always seems the food is either a hit or miss. I suggest to them to use an actual recipe because they constantly either put too much salt in the chicken wings and such, fried rice is dry and barely has any chicken, and they always make the same mistakes. About to start going to a different Chinese restaurant.
Ginger garden used to be the best food in the NE, sadly new with new owners the food is subpar. Hate to write a bad review but I hope they bring back the the old cook, sad to have to find a new spot but if the quality doesn't come back I'll have to.
Your typical Chinese takeout place. Nothing fantastic about it. Decent Chinese food at a decent price. Are there better places out there? I'm sure there are. But this place hits the notes when you're craving Chinese.
We love the war wonton soup the broth is perfect lots of veggies wontons and meat
The lemon chicken is great the noodles are loaded with veggies and meat overall we feel the new owners are doing a pretty good job
#1 beef n broccoli with black bean sauce added. Sauce is a bit runny, but recommend anyway.
#2 Satay noodles no spice as promised. Last order Shanghai noodles the same very bland. Will remember to request extra spice or just skip.
#3 Palace chicken not worth ordering, no spice a couple of chili flakes for show. Same sauce as S&S pork without the sour, but it included the pineapple missing from #4 weird.
#4 My favorite and include on every order S &S pork, but this time pineapple was missing.
#5 best chicken fried rice I've in years love this, lots of flavor and it actually has visible chicken not just broth.
The food is simply amazing. Not sure what kind of vegetable oil they use for cooking but I hope they never change it.
All of the dishes leave a lovely taste in my mouth.
I used to think that Calgary Chinatown was the only place to enjoy excellent Chinese food until I discovered Ginger Palace.
Ginger garden was pretty good. Had our food delivered and it was well packaged and warm when it arrived everything was good.
Been going here for years, not the same as it use to be but it's ok. But the real problem is.... THEY ADD GRATITUDE without your knowledge!!!! Not cool!! New years eve we found out when we got home after giving them a $10 tip that there was a $10 gratuity tip on the bill itself!!! Not impressed at all!! $20 to make food I already paid for????? Probably won't be back, cause for what they charge for now, there's better places!!
Restaurantji Recommends
New owners. Reduced quantity. Increased price period no thanks
Used to be great. Jacked up prices and implemented online order system that is a flawed disaster and waste of time. Truly unfortunate.

Food was horrible. This used to be our favourite takeout place for Chinese food but since the ownership has changed, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The beef fried rice was like mush with hardly any beef, salt and pepper squid was overcooked with mostly batter and hard to chew, ginger beef was mostly batter and not crispy and beef with broccoli hardly had any beef. They have also increased the prices. I will never order from this place again.
