This used to be my go-to restaurant especially when Tomo used to be the manager there, and whenever I ate out with my Japanese friends. However, it has gone downhill by a lot. I was there on a Tuesday at 5:15 pm; only 2-3 tables occupied including mine. Like other reviewers said, they rushed me. One plate looked almost empty, but I liked eating the tempura crumbs and they took the plate away without asking first. And when I finally finished eating, my green tea was still almost full, so I quietly drank it and took my time. The place was almost empty anyway. They brought me the receipt and I smiled and said thank you when they placed it on the table. I continued to drink my tea. I still had 3/4 of the teapot full! Tea was not free! And 5 minutes later, they came back with the card machine! Horrible service. I used to come here weekly, but now I will not go back.

Globefish Chinook is a fantastic place to come for good quality sushi and fabulous ramen - some of the best in the city.
My husband and I are regulars, and having been coming at least four times a month over the past couple of years. We've always had a great experience, with friendly and efficient service, consistently good food, incredibly fresh sushi/sashimi and reasonable prices. The location in Chinook mall is also very central and convenient to get to from most areas of the city.
Our favourite dishes are the "favourites" sushi combo, salmon and tuna nigiri, creamy vegan ramen, spicy miso ramen, globefish ramen, tonkotsu ramen and assorted sashimi. They also have incredible lunch hour specials, including bento boxes and other choices (the teriyaki chicken with sashimi and sushi is amazing). We always leave full!
It can be tough to find a rich and flavourful broth in a vegan ramen, but their options here (both creamy and tomato based) have an incredible depth of flavour and are so satisfying! I'm not actually vegan, but I find I always order one of the vegan options because they are so tasty, and I add a simmered egg or chicken for extra protein. They will also let you substitute chicken for pork in any of their ramens.
The staff are so friendly, gracious and accommodating. Even when they are busy, they will find you a table in a short amount of time.
I highly recommend Globefish for a casual yet outstanding Japanese meal!

The service was awful. The server rushed us while taking our order and kept interrupting as we spoke. The entire staff seemed in a hurry, not even checking if we were done before taking our bowls away. The food was mediocre—the so-called “overload” on the menu wasn’t even halfway full; only the bowl itself was large.

Good ramen. Would like broth much hotter. My partner would say the same thing. Price is reasonable for location.

Amazing place with great food and ambience! I love the ramen overload. Will definitely go back.
Wow, this place smells like a public toilet. I don’t know what’s going on, but it kills the mood and makes the food taste worse. Suddenly, I don’t feel hungry anymore.
Smell is VERY strong.

I just finished the Globefish Ramen and couldn't wait to share about it. It was really, really good - a much more balanced flavour and broth than others I've tried in the city. We ate here at lunch on a Friday and it was peaceful. Service was quick and attentive. I think it's a much better value to stop in for lunch here than going to the food court!

Been eating in this place for quiet sometime. Half of those orders i did are always wrong. It feels like a game of chances, even if you repeat the instruction twice. I ask for a globefish ramen to be boiling hot, i prefer to eat my ramen in that way. There are times that they get it right. But today to my surprise i got my ramen just warmth, feels like they made it 30 minutes ago. Ask for the server, is there any way to change its hotness, they took it and looks like they just microwave it. Half of the broth is gone. The noodles absorb most of it. No matter how clear the instructions are, somehow they messed it up.

We only ordered hot food, which was okay, so can't say about the sushi and sashimi.
