I have been coming to Globefish Marda Loop since I moved to Calgary 17 years ago. I lived in Japan for over three years and only eat authentic Japanese cuisine. My family and friends have enjoyed the real deal every time we come here - quality ingredients, perfect preparation, impeccable presentation, and excellent service. Well done, Yama-san!

This is always my favourite japanese restaurant ever. The staff are always SO KIND and HEARTWARMING every day! The food is amazing and the people are even better. Honestly amazing

We had a wonderful dinner here. We’re out of town and have a celiac allergy. The staff was very knowledgeable, and really eased our anxiety eating out.

The food was incredible, our table of 5 all left more than satisfied. Thanks for having us.

Came in later (an hour or so before closing) and confirmed we weren’t too late to eat since the restaurant was almost empty, just in case. With our kids there, right at 9 we were asked to leave. Drinks still on the table. Staff waiting around like we were squatters.
Would have gone somewhere else and not supported a Marda Loop business being impacted by the construction. Second visit with rude staff (not all). But we won’t be back.

This is one of my most beloved places to visit with my son. The service is friendly, and the food is consistently delicious.

Vegetarian options: A diverse range of vegetarian options are available, with cauliflower being a personal favorite:)

Parking: There is ongoing construction, but parking is available at the rear of the building.

Kid-friendliness: I always take my son with me, and I see other families with kids. There are lots of options for kids of all ages.

I went here for the first time a month ago. I was happy to find a sushi restaurant with many gluten friendly options, and I was most excited to try out the GF tempura. Unfortunately it tasted quite bland.
The rest of the meal was good quality, we just didn’t like our sushi roll choices (we tried some new items), so not on them! Haha
There was a new staff member which was fine, they got help when ordering due to the allergies. They didn’t check on us after delivering the food.

A visitor to Calgary to celibate a birthday with a party of 7. In 2024 with the cost of restaurant meals going up our final bill was $176 with tip. A bargain and the food was so good. The menu choices were excellent and everyone on leaving felt full. I only wish this restaurant was available in my neighbourhood.
