Just ordered delivery from globefish mardaloop and found bugs in my 20$ sashimi…gross and disappointing. I have been put off my whole meal.

Sushi Gem in Calgary
As a photographer traveling the world, sushi has become a ritual for my wife and me. This restaurant in Calgary truly blew us away – absolute freshness, perfectly seasoned rice, and masterful preparation. I have been coming to Globefish Marda Loop since I moved to Calgary 17 years ago. I lived in Japan for over three years and only eat authentic Japanese cuisine. My family and friends have enjoyed the real deal every time we come here - quality ingredients, perfect preparation, impeccable presentation, and excellent service. Well done, Yama-san!

We had a wonderful dinner here. We’re out of town and have a celiac allergy. The staff was very knowledgeable, and really eased our anxiety eating out.
The food was incredible, our table of 5 all left more than satisfied. Thanks for having us.

Restaurantji Recommends
Came in later (an hour or so before closing) and confirmed we weren’t too late to eat since the restaurant was almost empty, just in case. With our kids there, right at 9 we were asked to leave. Drinks still on the table. Staff waiting around like we were squatters.
Would have gone somewhere else and not supported a Marda Loop business being impacted by the construction. Second visit with rude staff (not all). But we won’t be back.

This is one of my most beloved places to visit with my son. The service is friendly, and the food is consistently delicious.
Vegetarian options: A diverse range of vegetarian options are available, with cauliflower being a personal favorite:)
Parking: There is ongoing construction, but parking is available at the rear of the building.
Kid-friendliness: I always take my son with me, and I see other families with kids. There are lots of options for kids of all ages.
