$25.00 for a Wednesday night buffet that was out of the major meats like lemon chicken, sweet and sour pork? And fish passed off as battered shrimp. First and last time there…. Went because of the 4 stars and won’t be back. Not enough selection and definitely too pricey.

What a great local gem. We were looking for a good Chinese buffet and came across this spot. Somehow living in the south I've never came across this place sooner. We rarely do buffets but wanted to splurge/gorge. We'll definitely be back the next time we feel the need and will definitely do take out from here. The food: great selection had a great variety of your typical North American type Chinese dishes with a couple added bonuses such as 2 dim sum dishes (sticky rice with bbq pork and siu mai), and a nice simple dessert selection (ice cream, cookies, mango jello and pudding). Everything was fresh and hot. The main guy working was awesome, very attentive always checking to make sure we were aware that more food was coming. Then when it got late he told us if we wanted a certain dish that was running low to just let him know and he'd make sure they'd make more (at the end there was only us which was a table of 4 and I think 1 other table left so I totally appreciated the fact that they weren't overmaking a bunch of food for no reason). We'll totally be back what a great experience!!

I went to this restaurant called Gold Bistro Chinese Restaurant in Southeast Calgary (Mindapore). It was a real hidden gem of a restaurant where you really wouldn't expect to have such fresh Asian cuisine. Such friendly owners and also regulars who were patting the back of the chef and also the owner. Alan immediately greeted us upon entering the restaurant brought us to our table and told us to continue eating and to please enjoy.While he was tending to all the business of the day, he was also ensuring the quality of the food was to be not looked over.While the selection was intimate, they focused extremely on fresh preparedness, quality ingredients, and enhanced delivery of foods, meaning, every time the pans of food were getting low they would actually take the entire pan back in to refill it entirely with fresh vegetables, seafood, cuts of delicately, prepared meats and fresh veggies.I would have to encourage anyone who loves to dine on freshly prepared Asian cuisine to check out and visit gold Bistro Chinese restaurant in southeast Calgary. They offer the best service and they do offer fresh high quality foods at a fantastic value.

We arrived st 630pm on a Wednesday. Fantastic selection in the buffet. Server offered to refill anything that was running low and when asked, they filled it very quickly! Server was extremely attentive, polite and friendly. I would recommend dining before 7pm for the buffet as it appears the dining room quiets down by then and the buffet may not be as full.

The food tasted really good and delivery went well. We ordered dinner for 2. While it was enough for dinner, we didn't have enough leftovers for next day lunch (a part I really appreciate about Chinese food). In comparison to other places their food quantity is much less.
