This is such a great spot (especially on a cold winters day!) excellent vegetarian options, great portions, and very good value! Highly recommend getting a reservation because the spot fills up quick!

Overall I had a great experience with hot pot as the food was quite good and I liked the make your own sauce bar. However the tables are quite small as I was part of a group of 6 and for some reason we weren’t able to split the cost of the 169.99 meat platter.
Best Hot Pot in the city in my opinion. Been going so often so thought I’d leave a review.
I’m not sure when I crossed the line from “just trying something new” to “half my paycheck belongs to Dragon Hotpot,” but here we are. This place has me in a chokehold, and honestly, I’m not even mad about it.
The hotpot? Unreal. Every bite is an explosion of flavor that makes you question why you ever bothered cooking at home. But let’s talk about that coconut soup — the real MVP. I don’t know what kind of sorcery they put in there, but it had me hooked after one sip. Creamy, rich, and perfectly balanced, it’s so addictive that I’ve considered setting up a direct deposit just to save time.

Dangerously Uncomfortable – Never Again
Golden Dragon Hot Pot was a complete disaster. The place lacks proper ventilation, making the entire restaurant unbearably humid. You could literally see condensation on the walls, floor, and ceiling. The floor was wet and dangerously slippery, and the stairs were even worse—it was like walking on ice. I ended up slipping halfway down the stairs, which was painful (you will be hearing from my lawyer soon).
On top of that, the food was mediocre at best, and the service wasnt the best. The seats where extremely uncomfortable and the tables are so close together. For the price, I expected a much better experience. Instead, it was a safety hazardous experience. Definitely won’t be returning. If you really want to get a hot pot experience I'd recommend you go some where else.
Update: woke up this morning with a very stiff lower back. Something you would expect when slipping down metal stairs.

This place is awesome! I always have such an amazing time when I come here. The service is impeccable and the food is great. The original broth is my favorite, the coconut chicken is good too. I love that we can make our own sauces, always an adventure. They also have a whole halal menu and lots of variety and options. They have a Ramadan special going on right now too, with extended hours. 1000% recommend to any and everyone. Great experience, great service, great food. awesome environment. The candies at the counter are yummy too!

Booking a table was very easy in terms of modification. The service was amazing. It was our first time at this location and the server walked us though everything on the menu and what flavours we would expect. She also walked us through the sauce station and the recommended sauce formulas for the newcomers. The flavors were incredible, she was very direct on which entrees were fresh and which were frozen. The fresh meat was amazing, as well as the fresh vegetables. Even the frozen tofu was incredible! Will definitely come again!

I’m very surprised to see good ratings from this place. I’ve eaten at a dozen or soul, hot pot restaurants here in Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver, and this would be my least favorite. The broth is very bland, and I didn’t like the set up in a restaurant, sitting above and having walk up and downstairs. Also, the tables are very cramped, I’m perplexed how anybody could give this a rating above two stars.
Food was okay, and the service was okay, nothing great but not terrible. It's pricey for what you get. For two of us, it ended up $78 + tip for a total of $86.
I was happy to see a hot pot place in the NW, but was disappointed and will continue to make the trek out to the NE for Hot pot.

The food was delicious but I didn’t like how some of the meat got onto the table. The staff were attentive, filling up the hot pot almost immediately. It was quite loud but it was a Friday evening and busy so I’m not complaining.
Vegetarian options: Tofu was yummy
Dietary restrictions: I’m lactose intolerant and everything was perfect for me
