All of the food that I ate was horrible. I just spent 8498 and the wonton soup was like water. The shrimp fried rice was not seasoned very very, very disappointed. I will not be recommending this place to any of my friends and I will not spend my money Here ever again.

A bit disappointed in Chicken Gai Ding, the chicken was overcooked, and water chesnuts and baby corn looked discolored/less than fresh. Even since the management changed, my last order was fresh and tender, but not the one I got yesterday.

We attempted to order from our usual Chinese restaurant in Shawnessy on New Year's Eve, but they were overwhelmed and unable to accept new delivery requests. As a result, I used SkipTheDishes to find an alternative Chinese restaurant, which led me to New Leaf.
We ordered six dishes. The Sweet & Sour Pork, Pork Chow Mein, and Beef & Snow Peas were all of decent quality. However, the Lemon Soo Gai was a significant disappointment. As noted in a previous review, we received chicken strips with lemon sauce instead of the expected dish.
I've enjoyed Lemon Soo Gai at numerous Calgary Chinese restaurants, and the preparation is typically consistent: deep-fried batter over a plump chicken breast. This deviation from the standard was quite surprising. It seems the restaurant may be attempting to cut costs with this dish.
If this change reflects the overall direction of their menu and the quality they expect their customers will be happy with, I believe they may need to reconsider. I will not be ordering from New Leaf again.

We have been ordering Golden Leaf Chinese Food since I was a child (almost 45 years). Our absolute favourite dish was the Lemon Soo Gai, and tonight, I ordered 2 orders of it because one is never enough. When I opened the container I was literally shocked to see chicken fingers (resembled Costco-bought frozen ones) instead of the usual way this dish has looked for the past 4 decades. We ordered online and the picture of Lemon Soo Gai is a picture of the "old dish" not the one they are currently serving. None of the food we got tonight ($100 worth) was up not to its usual quality or taste. From these reviews, I see ownership changed last year, I am afraid our New Years Day tradition of ordering Golden Leaf is no more. I will not spend money at this restaurant again. So sad. As others have said on these reviews, it is truly the end of an era.

I'm very disappointed about this food. I did order from Skip The Dishes. The reviews were so high which I don't understand how they served me such a horrible food. I ordered the Dinner for 2, which costs $45,00 very experience for something not worthy. Starting from the chicken SooGai, described as breaded chicken with lemon. I received nothing like that, the chicken was hard, dry and tasteless. The wonton soup had no taste at all and is usually my favorite dish. The ginger beef was extremely hard and dry, hurting the mouth while eating. The chicken rice seems was old, the rice was dry and barely had any piece of chicken. The only thing that was good was the spring rolls. I felt robbed by this restaurant. Fake reviews and very disappointing food. it seems they served old food for delivery.

Absolutely horrible. All of the expensive dishes came with zero meat. Everything over cooked. Rib bites where just gross.

Golden Leaf used to be my favorite Chinese takeout restaurant, but since the ownership changed, the quality has really gone downhill. The flavors aren’t the same, and the dishes just don’t have the same freshness and quality we loved. Unfortunately, we don’t think we’ll be going back again. It’s disappointing to see such a great spot lose what made it special.

It should had been good; however, the food is so bland. I think they forgot to put some soy sauce, oyster sauce and etc, and even neither salt nor pepper. I had to cook them again and added more taste.

The fried rice tasted a little old. The S&P squid was all batter. I thought the dumplings were ok, luckily free from Skip the Dishes. The udon noodles were the most bland thing I’ve eaten in my life and the veggies choice was weird, barely any broccoli. Lots of bean sprouts? Ginger beef needed some more sauce at the bottom. One word: BLAND. no wonder we seen all the old people coming in, they have no taste buds left it’s super flavorful to them. Only came because I was in the area, not again. I’m gonna make my own sauce for these bland noodles. No wonder people just eat at home now days, disappointing, mine would be better.
