“My wife and I were welcomed into Calypsos taverna by very friendly staff (manager Jennifer, server Amy). The restaurant was clean albeit a bit noisy with music and a TV showing Greek videos. My wife, Anastasia is Greek and grew up in Athens. We go to Greece every year and love the food for 4-6 weeks. Last night I wanted chicken souvlaki but was talked into the plentiful two racks of baby back ribs that was a full meal with rice, vegetables, and Greek salad. My wife ordered the lamb with the traditional Avro egg soup. Anastasia said the lamb and soup were okay but not as good as the manager touted so 5/5 at best. My Greek salad was excellent 9/10 and the rice and vegetables were good as well 7/10. The ribs had zero flavour and full of grease 2/10. This is an honest review. Could have just been an off night for food. Won’t return for the food as it was definitely missing the mark.“

“When I first saw they were opening a location in Mahogany, I knew I would be visiting for the experience. Was I ever impressed: The food was outstanding!! Totally met my expectations, and then some. The staff were incredibly friendly, and you can guarantee this is a local business that will benefit the community. It's definitely a place that needs to be visited. Top reviews for this restaurant don't tell enough for what you will get. Stop in and see these people; you won't be disappointed!“

“Okay it’s food court food but it’s SUCH AN INCREDIBLE DEAL! We were waiting at the AMA and needed some food nearby.
We got the skewer & potato meal, it was $13 for 3 chicken skewers, Greek salad and a whole lemon potato. Everything was so flavourful and well seasoned, the chicken was beautifully crisped but not burnt. I would consider driving back to get this, that’s how good it was.“

“First time here and I loved it! Can’t believe I waited so long to try it. We were greeted with a smile by Christiana (sorry if I got the name wrong), and promptly seated. She gave us excellent service, answered all questions, and was attentive! It’s a family business, so they care. The atmosphere is traditional Greek and comfy – it’s a vibe, and reminds me of the Greek restaurants in Vancouver from back in the day. Very nostalgic. The food was delicious, the portions large, and most importantly, it was steaming hot (which many restaurants in Calgary can’t seem to get right). Highballs (premium) are only $8! Highly recommended if you want filling comfort food served with a smile! Plus, you’re supporting a local family business.“

“I ordered a Caesar salad and a wrap from OPA, and I was very happy with the food. The salad was fresh with crisp lettuce and good dressing, and the wrap was flavourful and filling. Everything was prepared well and tasted great. Overall, a nice meal and good quality food. Staff is really friendly and happy.“

“I’ve been eating Opa for years and today’s chicken wrap was the best one I’ve ever had. The bread was perfect. Typically, the bread is kind of dry. Today, Saturday June 14th, the two guys working did a fantastic job. It makes me wonder if the times in the past, the bread was already made and just kind of reheated, giving it a drier texture. This time, the bread looked completely white, as if being cooked for the first time. I don’t live anywhere near this location, I just stopped here on my way out of Calgary. I’d go here instead of my typical A&W that’s close to home when leaving the city northbound after today’s experience. I didn’t catch the names of the two guys working this afternoon (2 pm) but wow, they did a great job and I hope they can see this review! Fantastic“

“Decided to eat in and really enjoyed the food!I got the chicken mega platter with santorini salad and it was soo good?I wish there was more potatoes than the single one I got but I def got enough food to justify the pricewould recommend coming in and eating with friends as there's plenty of comfortable seating when the weather isn't awful“

We have been part of this community for over 25 years, and when we heard a donair place had opened nearby, our family was so excited! On our very first visit, we introduced ourselves, welcomed them to the neighborhood, and ordered our first donair — and we’ve been regulars ever since!
Hands down, our all-time favorite beef donair! The garlic spread and sweet sauce combo is how we roll. 😊

Also, the toppings were good portions, which was much appreciated as a lot of places these days skimp on toppings. “I recently visited this location and ordered the chicken souvlaki wrap and it was amazing — the chicken was super juicy. The pita was soft and warm too, which made everything even better.

“I recently visited OPA! of Greece at Sunridge Mall and had a great experience. The food was fresh, flavorful, and served fast — perfect for a quick, satisfying meal while shopping.
I ordered the falafel wrap with rice, salad, and fries, and everything was absolutely delicious. The wrap was warm and perfectly spiced, the rice and salad were fresh, and the fries were crispy and golden — a perfect side! The tzatziki sauce tied everything together beautifully.
The staff was friendly and made sure my order was just right. The place was clean and had a nice, casual vibe.
