great healthy food! everything is fresh, great falvours
Top notch with great service! The staff is always exceptional.
We booked Kuzina because it was one of only a few places near 17th Ave that we could find a table for a group of 6 on a Friday night with only a few days notice. The service was great and the food was pretty good, but not good enough that I'm planning to come back. Specifically, the ribs and chicken souvlaki I had were quite dry, and would have benefitted from a sauce on the side (maybe tzatziki?). Still a good meal and a great time with friends, though!
What I love at Kuzina: - Fantastic authentic Greek food, simple and fresh, just like at home (approved by Greeks :-) ) - Fresh ingredients flown in regularly from Greece, such as olives, cheeses, fish. Try catch of the day, you won't regret it. - Home-like cooking, tasty and healthy - Warm, inviting ambiance, with Greek music playing softly in the background - Attentive, competent staff - Unpretentious atmosphere, with the owner coming by regularly to check on his guests - Good value for money I have been to this restaurant numerous times and it never disappoints - will definitely be back!
Four Greek food-loving older adults picked this spot to try on a Saturday evening. There is parking in the back of the restaurant. The ambience does not "scream Greek" and the decor was subtle and contemporary. The overall service was good, although our young server seemed inexperienced and we could not hear what she was saying. The food was delicious. I especially enjoyed the grilled fish of the day which was better than most fish I've had in Calgary. Portions were moderate to large, and I would have enjoyed smaller portions of the avoglemono soup and side Greek salad that came with my main. My fellow diners also enjoyed their lamb kleftika, moussaka, and steak. The taramasalata and saganaki were excellent. I had Retsina wine with my meal and it was fantastic. My least favourite was the dessert. It was good, but not $9 good.
My friend and I dined at Kuzina before attending an NHL game. Everything was fabulous except my friend's lamb chops were quite fatty. We were even given a 10% discount as we were attending the game. I would definitely go there again and recommend to friends.
I'm not a foodie but trust me, the food was outstanding. We've had Greek elsewhere that we thought was pretty good, but this was the best. We had cocktails and appies. They knew what a Manhattan was. The Moussaka was the best we've had anywhere. We shared Baklava with our Spanish Coffee. They apologized for the service as they were literally run off of their feet, but we were never left wanting. The one flaw was giving us a wrong bottle of wine which cost $20 more than our selection, but it was still a good wine. They were so busy it was hard to fault them, at least it was a New Zealand wine. I would strongly recommend this restaurant to any fan of Greek food.
I'm not one for reading other people's reviews about a particular place to eat as I believe reviews are subjective. That being said, kuzina was fantastic! The staff were very welcoming and at tentative. The prices were great. The food was outstanding and filling. I would strongly recommend Kuzina to anyone, regardless if they do or do not love Greek food. Will go again in time and will likely bring more people along.
My fiance and I went here for Valentines Day! Expecting it to be busy but not for us to be rushed to eat and leave! I would definitely go here again for the food but would hope I wouldn't get the same server! It was our first time and we would give it another chance due to the food and I believe the manager or owner who was friendly and was helping out.
I live very near this restaurant and have been meaning to try it since it opened. Wish I hadn't waited so long. It was lovely. The ambience was beautiful. Much classer than the usual decor of a Greek restaurant. The service was great. Everyone was friendly and attentive. The food was quite good, but I did find the calamari too chewy. Will defiantly return.

Had a birthday dinner for 5 at Kuzina on July 21, 2013. Third time there in 4 months. Food has been consistently very good. This last visit I ordered a lamb souvlaki that was tasty but a bit chewy. The meal was comped without any hesitation and with a profuse apology by both our server and the manager. Finally, the manager offered our table a complementary digestive, some sweet Samos fortified wine that was delicious. The staff and management at Kuzina clearly care about great customer service coupled with very good food, and all at reasonable prices for a fairly high-end restaurant. Other restaurants should take note. Kuzina is setting a new high standard.
We had a great evening with a great selection of foods. The menu has many of the traditional items you would expect in a Greek restaurant (saganaki, dolmades. calamari, lamb chops, etc) but had many that were "Greek inspired" (rib eye in a Greek marinade, pork ribs, and organic chicken). All were cooked well and were nicely presented. We wanted a Greek wine and had a great recommendation. We topped everything off with traditional desserts that were updated in style and Greek coffees - a wonderful treat in Calgary. We were in one of the booths in the middle of the restaurant which allowed us to be able to hear and talk easily - a great set up for a small group. We will definitely be back.
We have been to this restaurant many times now and the service and food have consistently been great quality and very good value. Will be returning again .. never disappoints. We enjoy a slightly quieter dinning experience and although there is an energy there the sound level is not overwhelming as seems to be the trend today.
Dining room is lovely, with street patio. Booths for 6-8 people readily available, along with areas that could be more intimate. Food was quite good, though portion sizes are suspect for pricing. Huge amounts of feta on salads, large sides of rice and/or fries to chicken dishes but what amounted to one potato and three spears of asparagus as a side to the lamb main. Ask about portion sizes when ordering to avoid disappointment. Highlights: watermelon salad, braised lamb, cornish hen. Creative cocktails and wine choices, several by the glass. Passion Fruit mojito is amazing! Baklava was a split vote, but you can easily end with one of their great coffees and Ouzo. Service needs a bit of work, but it won't take much to bring that rating up.
Finally a dressed up Greek restaurant that's actually really good! The service was great! The Kleftiko was delicious. The lit up the saganaki away from the table which was mildly disappointing, but the place was otherwise fantastic! Lovely interior. And right on 17th!
