It was amazing, the Doro Wat was rich and complex, with tender chicken. The injera had perfect tang, but the spice level overwhelmed me slightly. Loved the sharing style — it felt like a Holy days.

This place has fantastic food. Absolutely delicious. I tried the spicy Habeshas Tibs. I highly recommended it if you like spicy (hot) food. The chicken tibs are also delicious. 🤤

Food was good. It is a small, looks clean in the corner of 10th st sw and 17 ave sw. We got Veg platter, we didn't prefer the beets and potato, other gravies were nice.

Service is 🐌 slow... when we went only one person was taking orders, serving, clearing tables. The restaurant was full with all tables occupied. No smile, no welcome, ...

Terrible service and food, took them forever to bring menu and take order, then what supposed to be served hot came cold after a very long wait , didn’t seem (taste) fresh. The waiter who brought the food was very unfriendly, no greetings, no assistance whatsoever other than just dropping the food once on our table.
Don’t want to spend my money there and wouldn’t recommend to anyone. We went for supper on a Saturday night and all we got was disappointment.

The food was good but the waitress who also served the bar counter was caught 3-times rolling her eyes! In total disregard of customer service norms. Probably it is not always like this but after this second visit experience, we are uncertain that we will ever go back.

restaurant, hoping for a flavorful and enjoyable meal. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The meat didn’t taste fresh and had a strange, almost sour flavor that was hard to ignore. It was not well-seasoned and didn’t reflect the rich, traditional taste I was expecting from Ethiopian cuisine. Every time something happens the meat test weird test did not eat all very disappointed

I usually enjoy Tibs and know how delicious it can be when prepared right, but this time the quality was far below standard. I couldn’t even finish the meal. Definitely not worth the price.

I hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously and improves the quality and freshness of their food. Ethiopian food deserves to be represented at its best.
This not the first time happening

One of the best restaurants you could go to, the flavors were very unique and delicious, it was basically the definition of Ethiopia (we would recommend the special kitfo and kornis) if you have never tried Ethiopian food, after going to this restaurant you will fall in love with it also for those of you who have low tolerance to spice, try some of the alicha shiro, seriously this is the best restaurant in Calgary.

Very disappointing experience at Habesha Restaurant. Walking down 17th Ave, part of three, came excited to try authentic Ethiopian food, but everything from the service to the food itself missed the mark. We clearly explained our dietary restriction against beef, but the server seemed unsure and had to go back multiple times to check. What’s not acceptable is that she still ended up recommending dishes that contained beef. That’s a serious oversight, especially when it comes to food restrictions.

We ended up ordering the lamb, but that was another disaster. The meat was completely charred—every piece was blackened at the ends and tough to chew. To make matters worse, the food overall was bland and lacking any real flavor. Ethiopian cuisine is known for its rich spices and bold taste—this had none of that.

Also who serves a Doro Wot (21$) with one leg chicken piece and a one boiled egg!

Sadly, we won’t be returning or recommending this place

Food is good but calling to order take out tests your patience.(Specially on weekends). No telephone manners! It is rude to start conversing with others with no apology while a customer is in the middle of ordering.
