Best Kimchi in the game. The food is decent but the real reason I come here is to buy the 1L container of Kimchi to go. I assume they make it in house. I stopped buying kimchi at the grocery stores and only come here for all my Kimchi needs.

The best Korean restaurant in Calgary so far. Spicy beef noodle is one of my favorites and their dumpling is so good.
Been a couple times and the Kalguksu is excellent, definitely recommend to order this as it is their speciality. However, their spicy soups are good too.
I also love the side dishes, especially the onion one.

I was passing through Calgary from Boston and stopped here because I was craving kalguksu. My husband got the seafood kalguksu and I had the spicy clam kalguksu, plus mandus. The noodles were super chewy and the broth was clean and refreshing. So comforting. The mandus were also impressive. Huge, and packed with meat, almost like meatballs. The kimchi was so good I wanted to buy some to take home. Portions are very generous (we had leftovers to go). The owner was also incredibly kind and even gave us a complimentary mini gimbap when they heard we were visiting from Boston (perfect to enjoy at the airport). I was sad that I don’t live in Calgary. Highly recommend!

I had a great experience at Hanbo! The food was delicious and freshly served, and the staff were very friendly and attentive.
This is a place I used to visit quite often, but this experience was so disappointing that I don’t think I’ll be coming back.
There were small flies inside the restaurant, and unfortunately I found one in my soup. When I told the server, they suggested it must have flown in from around me and responded as if it was unavoidable, without offering an apology. I was already concerned about the flies flying around while I was eating, so the insect was not something that entered after the food was served.
Even so, is it the customer’s fault if flies are flying around the restaurant in the middle of winter and end up near or in the food? lol 😅 I was offered a remake, but I had already eaten most of the soup by the time I noticed, and I didn’t want to waste food, so I declined.
Overall, this was very disappointing.

Came here because of the good Google reviews — huge mistake. Found a long piece of fur on a dumpling. When we reported it, the waitress said the cook claimed it was “part of the ingredient,” which is absurd. Instead of remaking the dish or apologizing properly, they brought it back with the fur cut off. Completely unacceptable and unhygienic.
Also worth noting that many of the five-star reviews appear to be incentivized, as customers are offered free dessert in exchange for leaving one. Will never return.
