Came to open mic night for my 4th time and it is always filled with warm and welcoming vibes and friendly faces. The host Aqybaba is always so kind and fun to be around! Cant wait to come back. Thanks, higher ground Kensington!
Aw what a special experience! I stumbled in to the restaurant for the first time on the open mic night on Tuesday and had such a lovely night. Baba (the emcee) made my night, he immediately created such a welcoming atmosphere; he welcomed me personally and the people sitting around. Greeting people by their first names. These are the spaces and the kind of people worth treasuring.
Been trying to get a table in this place for months, it's like an exclusive club for the academic younglings. I did a reading date with my gal pal. I got the matcha frappe with chocolate whipped cream (they ran out of white) I felt like a child. Gal got a white chai, it looked like she was drinking milk. Felt like we fit in with the youth.
