There aren't many of these mom+pop restaurants left. I got the shanghai Noodles and Sweet and Sour Pork. Noodles were great, as good as any others I've had. Pork was bit underdone and not super crispy, but still pretty good. Prices were reasonable and portion size is very generous.
Will be back, although might not get the sweet and sour pork again.

This place has taken a major down hill slide. Meat portions are a total rip off. Ridiculous small pieces cut in tiny strips! What the hell is that about? Small strips of meat so small you can nearly think it’s noodles. Taste is so so. I don’t recommend.
The year before: Very fresh and tasty food
I ordered the Cantonese noodles with veggies, chicken, pork and shrimp and was very fresh and flavorful. We ordered the lemon chicken and Ginger beef and really enjoyed both dishes. All the dishes had very nice portions too. I will look forward to eating the left overs for lunch the next day, yum! Glad they are close by because we will be back. Also, all the staff were very welcoming and very friendly upon entering the place. They gave that warm and fussy feeling when you leave. Thank you!

I'm not sure if they know the difference between steamed and fried rice. I asked for steamed rice and received fried. I do not eat fried rice, therefore i threw the rice in the garbage. Half my meal went in the garbage. Complete waste of time and money ordering from this place.

Love this couple. They run a good, honest business and make the most delicious food. A very deserving, local restaurant that will always have my support.

We ordered Dinner for 3 - Shanghai Noodles, Sweet and Sour pork, and Ginger beef. The food was hot - Shanghai noodles were spot on, Sweet and sour pork was great as well, except the breading was a bit soft but It wasn't to big of a bother (could have been miscommunication with when food was ready) Chicken fried rice was exactly what it should have been. Spring rolls were good too. The Ginger beef however I have never had one that tasted like either too much soy sauce or salt was put into it - Wasn't really gingery (probably overpowered from the salt) on top of that and lacked that crunchy outer breading. I will say it was a pick up order, so maybe this put into play with how the breading turned out. The meat itself was tender though. Was also a 40 minute wait time from their online order (I don't know if they confirm the time wait or not or if its a generic time). One point off food for the Ginger beef, and One point off for the 40 minute wait time. Maybe confirm by calling the guests about their online order if their food will be ready sooner or not.

My partner and I really liked the chicken chow mein, mixed veggies, ginger beef, and chicken balls! The woman who was at the front counter was so kind and sweet. We ordered from their website, and it was a very easy transaction.

Best chinese food in the city, hands down.
This review was made when it was still Hot Wok Cafe.
We decided to try the new ownership (Don's Restaurant) and were all so happy. The veggie fried rice was amazing and had zucchini and broccoli and mushrooms ? Bean broccoli was fantastic and so were the spring rolls. Really happy for you guys!
The almond Soo gai was inedible and the chicken chow mein had almost no flavor.
