Hy's Steakhouse & Cocktail Bar

We had a lovely experience at Hy's. The service was attentive and professional, and the ambience created a refined, enjoyable atmosphere. The tableside service added a fun and interactive touch to the evening. That said, we found the food to be a bit too salty for our preference and slightly overpriced for what was offered. Having dined at several upscale steakhouses, we felt the overall experience, while pleasant, didn't quite stand out as exceptional.

The Live music was awesome. My server was excellent. The food was delicious. And my old fashioned was quite tasty, as well.

Good to be back at Hy's for a business dinner. Great service by Dino. Our out-of-town guests were quite impressed with the hospitality and service.

Bruce was a good server. However, I eat at Hys for business lunches quite often. We didn't find the Caesar salad was the same it usually is, again, nothing against Bruce, but I had that same salad on Thursday and the taste was amazing....Saturdays just was not. The one small strike was that our sides were forgotten. My steak was pretty great, as was my sons. Appreciate that very much!

Absolutely delicious. The beef Wellington, and pecan carrots were the biggest hits. The porterhouse was incredibly juicy as well and the Bananas Foster is always fun. Wedge salad was super flavourful too. Sat in the lounge with live singer/guitar player playing covers. Professional, polite, and attentive service. My partner's favourite spot in the city.

Beautiful location and appears luxurious from the minute you walk in. Coat check is a nice touch. Our server Dino was well informed & very prepared. His suggestions were commendable. Cocktail selections were interesting and added a regional flare. Wine selections were also interesting and top notch. Our food was very good (Steak Diane table side!) and well presented. A great dinner. Well paced. What more could you ask for?

Bruce gave us another fun date night at Hy's with our favorite cocktails, the best Caesar salad in YYC, and piping hot mains cooked to perfection. The singer/guitarist played great tunes and contributed to a relaxed and upscale ambience. Can't wait to come back.

Went to Hy’s for the first time. The quality of service from DINO went inexplicably above and beyond our expectations. Going forward when I come back I will specifically ask for a table reservation that is being served by DINO. If you want to be made feel special during your dinner experience I cannot recommend enough that you seek DINO out.

Will never be back. Server very poor, spilled red wine on floor, drops hit table and three patrons, no apologies. We had to summon him to get drinks as he would not come by our table. Water glass hit the floor, again no apologies from our server. Two meals returned because not prepared properly. Forced to pay 20% tip even though food and service sub par.

Place is amazing, service / vibe is amazing! The food is a bit subpar - you won’t leave hungry but it does lack flavor. But, the cocktails are amazing - had an Old Fashion that was perfect

Genuinely one of my favourite places to go to when I am done with my shopping at the Core and Chinook. Easy access, great vibe and service, and even better food. Today we tried the happy hour and it was amazing (not that I expected anything less). Would come back to try the happy hour again!

My boyfriend is the best, if it weren't for him my experience would not have been so amazing. It is not always the service it is the person that you are with that makes the experience worthwhile.

Absolutely unforgettable evening! The experience was elevated by the meticulous service—our server prepared and mixed the salad dressing right in front of us, adding a fresh and delightful touch to the meal.

The steak was perfectly cooked, tender, and bursting with flavor, melting in each bite. Every detail seemed crafted to enhance the evening’s enjoyment, making each course feel special.

And to finish, the dessert was nothing short of spectacular: caramelized bananas with a rich, creamy ice cream, accompanied by a dramatic flame presentation. It was a perfect sweet finale to an already amazing night. I left feeling genuinely happy and fulfilled.
