IKUSA Izakaya & Tokyo Market is a must-visit for ramen lovers, serving some of the best bowls of Tonkotsu Black Ramen. The restaurant offers a Japanese-style atmosphere and excellent service, making it a great spot to dine alone or with friends. Customers can enjoy delicious yakitori, fried rice, and a taste of Japan in a cozy setting.
The restaurant is located in the Bridgeland area of Calgary, just two blocks from the former Calgary General Hospital and across the river from downtown. While the space is not as spacious as the other IKUSA location on Macleod Trail, it offers slightly different Japanese dishes.
The sashimi is fresh, and the rolls are satisfactory, though the rice could be firmer. Teriyaki dishes are well-executed, and the noodle bowls are larger than normal. Prices are average for Japanese restaurants in Calgary.
