Menu is not as advertised on their website, the food is absolutely horrendous. Completely lost my appetite. Ordered the Canadian breakfast, the butter tasted like it was spoiled, the eggs were absolutely disgusting and not an ounce of seasoning, used bagged cheese as a topping. The potatoes were the only thing worth eating. Definitely do not recommend eating here for breakfast at the very least.
I was leary in going here. Due to negative reviews on owners keeping tips. Tends to mean staff just don’t care.
Me and my son decided to try it out.
Everything we ordered tasted really good! I got a seafood Alfredo dish, tasty. Cooked perfectly.
Son got a Alfredo and pasta dish, he loved it, cooked perfectly.
Got a pizza for my daughter who stayed behind at the hotel across the street. I tried that…it was really good.
Down side of the experience. Reading staff not getting tips. I waters to ask, but didn’t. Front entrance looks worn. Tables were all worn. It looks like it was happening place at one time and new owners have taken over or a group and need to do a little updating. I’m really hoping the no tipping thing has been worked out.
Parking is poor.
Washrooms looked clean.

I worked at the hotel restaurant owned by Rakesh Roshan, and my experience was deeply disappointing and exploitative. Despite working hard, I was never paid—he still owes me $7,000 in unpaid wages.
To make matters worse, the owner keeps all the tips meant for the staff. Employees receive none of what customers generously leave, believing it goes to their servers.
The restaurant itself is poorly maintained and often dirty. Most of the workers are foreign employees, many of whom are taken advantage of and underpaid or not paid at all. As a result, most of them have already left.
This establishment shows no respect for its workers or basic labor rights. I strongly recommend avoiding this place—both for employment and as a customer..

After a long trek across the prairies, we landed here at the hotel. The front desk recommended Il Forno, which was located across the parking lot.
It was by far the worst place ever! Service was terrible. There were ceiling tiles that were rotten and water stained and falling apart.
I ordered a New York steak. It was cut thinly and in half. Hard to explain what this piece of meat even was. The side veggies were still crunchy and cold.
My friend ordered steak and gnocchi. I think her steak were the possible remnants of mine. The gnocchi were over cooked and under-seasoned. My other friend ordered salmon and pasta. The salmon was so dry and the pasta was over-cooked.
The server was no where to be found. The food took more than 35 minutes - no bread - nothing. We were the only ones in the restaurant. A couple were just leaving as we arrived.
Terrible! Do not come here.
We complained and we got 50% off, which was still way to expensive for what we got.

This restaurant has lost its charm from previous years and has become a dive. Place is dirty, half of the bar TV’s don’t work, all draft beer removed except one, food quality is stale, dry and not worth the prices. They have zero pop on tap and resort to the smallest selection of caned pop. The images and menu online are false advertisement as the prices are $5 more per item and the place looks nothing like the photos. There is only 1 employee left as the rest all quit and as per them they quit due to working conditions and not being paid on time. Apparently there is no Culinary Chef, it’s the manager in the back making the food, but will reply to comments here that he will pass on reviews to his culinary team. There is no team or culinary experience here. I was told the owner is cheap and won’t spend a dime on this restaurant. Service took 30+ minutes after ordering to receive meals and there was only one other customer. It’s a shame that a restaurant like this is connected to a reputable hotel. The previous owners were way better back in the day and this place was once a fabulous little gem. Now it’s become a dump.

DO NOT USE THE POSTED MENU PRICES! They are about $4.50 more than posted!
We waited about 30 minutes for our entre's!
The place wasn't busy at all! I think they are lacking cook staff! If not, someone is dropping the ball! The restaurant is in a hotel, so you think they would strive to keep the hotel guests happy and wanting to rebook their future stay.

A deeply disappointing experience
Unfortunately, this was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. From the moment we arrived, there was no real service to speak of. Staff were distracted, more focused on their phones than on attending to guests, and we felt largely ignored throughout the evening.
As for the food—it was simply awful. The salmon was overcooked, dishes arrived incorrectly, and there was absolutely no seasoning. We were a group of eight, and not a single plate stood out. Everything tasted bland and looked carelessly thrown together, with no attention to presentation or quality.
I rarely write reviews, but this experience was disappointing enough to warrant a warning: this restaurant desperately needs new management, properly trained staff, and a competent kitchen team. Until then, I would strongly advise looking elsewhere for a meal.

We are from out of province and wanted to eat at a nice restaurant while we are visiting Calgary. We were seated right away only bc there was no other patrons coming in at that time. The bartender took our order and drinks. Our appetizers and meals were delivered by the server The 2 appetizers weren't great. The calamari was very chewy and hard and the Polpeette was hard as Little rocks and difficult to cut through. Our meals did not arrive at the same time and they forgot one's salad. We wanted to order dessert and waited for the server to come around. I politely said excuse me to get her attention but she may not have heard me and walked away. We waited some more and I got up to ask the bartender and told them we wanted to order dessert and sat back down and waited again. The server did not come by but bartender. By then we decided not to order dessert and just have the check. Finally the server comes with the 174$ check and pin pad for payment. This is the first time I have never tipped at a restaurant. I feel like if I have to get up more than once to ask for service and then wait 10-15 mins then I shouldn't have to tip. The restaurant was not busy at all. I feel bad for not tipping cos the bartender provided good service but it was the server that made my decision not to.

Canadian breakfast did not include bacon. You had to pay extra which defeats the purpose of calling it a Canadian breakfast
Toast was cold. Not great overall

I have been coming here for 2 years on work trips. Apparently new owners took over, and I have been told they are stealing the servers tips, whether it is cash or through a card. This is absolutely unacceptable. Shame on you. I hope you lose all of your customers and go bankrupt. This is illegal in Alberta and I will be reporting your business.

New owners DO not provide any tips to staff, there is no pooling system, they just pocket it. This is absolutely illegal. While tips are not considered actual wages, it is illegal to NOT distribute your tips to staff accordingly. While owners have the discretion on HOW to distribute it, they cannot simply pocket it. It’s dishonest and TERRIBLE business practice. I will be absolutely following up with every possible board in ALBERTA to ensure this gets addressed ASAP. THIS IS DISHONEST TO YOUR CUSTOMERS AND STAFF. Your staff is amazing and you will lose them all at this rate. I suggest the owners rectify this immediately because theyve PO’d the wrong customers.
When you come into the building, it says please see yourself but there’s nobody there to come and bring you a menu stated there for a few minutes before somebody came to ask if they could help I’d ordered my pizza ahead of time and for $23 I got this.
